BWV Refurb Progress

Lots of us were at BWV last week. Should have had a DIS meet up!

We are in 2103. Not rehabbed yet. I'd like to see a rehab room. No big issues with room, we are all happy. No crib, had to request it. Had to also request a new high chair as the fabric strap had gone moldy. I can see how this would happen as the food the child eats easily works into the strap between their legs.

Welcome home, Carol! Sorry you didn't get a rehabbed room but sounds like you had a good location. Wish I had run into you at BWV. We got home Thursday.

Bummer! I assumed you would not be there since you went for F&W. Would have loved to meet DebbieB and rlduvall, too. Next time I will ask.

Seriously, those cherry pickers weren't all that bad. My fireworks pictures leave something to be desired, but we didn't even see the pickers once it was dark. This photo is straight from my phone - no cropping or editing.

Great view, Carol! I have only stayed standard once for a few days and we somehow got one of the x123 rooms. We had a good view of fireworks also. Really those standard view rooms are a super bargain. Hope you get a refurbed room next time. Though not well-themed, they are nice.
We decided to do a Dec. trip because of Osborne lights. We might skip Dec. next year. I love the October timeframe.

Great view, Carol! I have only stayed standard once for a few days and we somehow got one of the x123 rooms. We had a good view of fireworks also. Really those standard view rooms are a super bargain. Hope you get a refurbed room next time. Though not well-themed, they are nice.

Any updates on progress? We are supposed to stay at bwv end of month, in a 2br standard view. Should I make a request such as higher floor or certain area to increase my chances of getting a refurbed room? Thanks in advance for suggestions

We will be staying there in June 2016. Looking forward to the "extra" bed. Saves a lot of fighting between my sons. Love BWV.

We were also just there (12/13-12/28), preferred view 1st floor, looking out onto the clown pool. Our rooms (1040 & 1042) were not renovated, and probably half of the rooms on the 1st floor were still not done. We didn't check out any other floors. Honestly, we were happy with the "old" rooms. I can wait until the smell of new flooring, furniture, and paint dissipate before we stay in a new room.
I am a little concerned about the choice of flooring, because after our stay at BWV we spent 4 nights at OKW in a 1-br on the first floor and we definitely heard the people above us. There were children running - we could hear their voices, too - but thankfully it was only the one morning (and not too early). I just see this as a possible issue for us in the future, as we always request 1st floor at BWV...may have to rethink that!

Any updated pictures or reviews on the BW rehab. Last I saw there was scaffolding around the main building for painting. If anyone has any current pictures or news please update.

One month till we arrive, hoping most of the work is completed.

I returned on the 27th although did not take any pictures of the outside work going on. While there they were working all over the place. We saw them with scaffolding on the the quiet pool/standard view parking lot wing and later on painting in the Village Green area at the lobby and the ceilings under the balconies outside Wyland Gallery. I think they were also working on the inn side of the Village Green horseshoe and there was lots of fencing up blocking off areas in the village green, Seashore Sweets and the ESPN arcade. One day when we were coming back to the Villas the Fire rescue came and and took out a construction worker from the Clown pool area. There was no scaffolding nor ladders there so I'm not certain what happened.

For interior work - they are doing the second floor wing from the lobby towards the parking lot. Everything appeared to be deconstructed and now they are working on putting it all back together. The first floor in this wing is the only remaining floor/section that has not been refurbed yet.

Second floor pool/standard view wing outside of studio 2136. Tile was demo'd in the room and painting done. Everything else remained to complete:

Thanks for the photo update, Kathy. We'll be staying there in about 7 weeks so I'll keep an eye out for progress.

One day when we were coming back to the Villas the Fire rescue came and and took out a construction worker from the Clown pool area. There was no scaffolding nor ladders there so I'm not certain what happened.

I'm betting the Clown got him.

Arrived Feb 14 at 12pm and waited 3 1/2 hours for refurbished room we requested. Also requested highest floor and were quite pleased with our 5th floor Boardwalk view. Also requested close to elevator and that did not happen. We were over the Big River Grille.
Checked several times at front desk and were told they were trying to fill our requests so we waited it out. Lots of work all over property. Maybe refurbs done during off-season. Will avoid February next time. Plus the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival starts in March so will book then.

And the Boardwalk views that are closest to the elevators, and face the Village Green, are not ones I'd prefer.

I hadn't ever realized that the first section of Boardwalk view was all GV's except for the 2nd floor. And the first 1BR and studio on that floor are the only Boardwalk view HA rooms so it's not real likely to receive those unless you have booked them.

Oh my! All of this construction is so confusing! I was so excited to get Boardwalk seven months out but I just can't decide for sure what I should put in as my room request for a 2BR preferred view with the construction...I think I'm just going to stick with high floor refurbished room and keep my fingers crossed! We arrive in less than two weeks on March 20th. I originally had BCV and changed to BWV because I thought BWV would be done and BCV would be in the middle of their refurb...wondering if I messed up!
