BWV Refurb Progress

Would you mind saying what room you were in. We're in a standard view studio for our next stay, and prefer upper floors. Using Touringplans room request too to try and work out our best option, if you overlook the front entrance of the resort do you get a lot of noise?

.......(snip)....... if you overlook the front entrance of the resort do you get a lot of noise?

The standard view rooms closest to the elevators over look the RAC area (Remote Airline Check-in) and luggage carts. You will hear beeping when the luggage trucks back up as well as some banging from the luggage getting tossed about. Also, the Magical Express and Cruise Line buses often idle near the front entrance. Those things bother some people.

We were just in 4079. It was about 5 rooms away from the front entrance and we didn't notice much of the noise at all from the front entrance. It is there, but it didn't bother us.

After having stayed at the studio for a while now, the pull down table isn't as bad as I first thought it was going to be. We kept it down the entire time and had left two laptops sitting on it. While working on the laptops it didn't block much of the TV for anyone watching it. Of course working at the table and watching TV doesn't work that well.

Now that coffe table, how come it is so heavy? Makes it hard to move around when pulling out the sofa bed.

Thank you, I'll bear that in mind, don't think it'll bother us too much, not looking for complete silence :).

Thanks for all the pictures on this thread, I think the studios look great, but then it's our 1st time at BWV, can't wait.

We were just in a standard room 3rd floor overlooking the front entrance. I fully expected to hear lots of noise in the morning with clanging, etc. I was pleasantly surprised that it bothered none of us. We honestly heard nothing.

Funnily enough when I went back on Touring Plans it was 4079 I'd selected, so I'll see it as a good omen and stick with that. :) Not really fussed where we are, but we do prefer a higher floor.

We had 3019 P/G refurbished studio for the 1st 3 nights 11/6-8 and moved to 4021 1 bedroom also P/G refurbished 11/9-15. We had a great trip, great weather, did not see what rooms they were working on but did see the equipment staged by the front entrance. There was also equipment staged on the backside by the canal, did not see anyone using it but there was a lot of construction traffic on the service road behind BWV. We only went to MK once, got to the bus stop at 8:30 and did not get picked up until 9:05, by then the line waiting for the MK bus was almost back to the BW entrance. We missed rope drop by a good 20 minutes but we all lived through the experience, (although I should probably go to confession for some of my thoughts and under breath comments):o. I let my DD and her fiance have the master bedroom (I know I'm nice but it keeps the clutter out of the L/R so I don't have to see it all week:)). When I 1st sat down on the pullout I didn't think I would make it through the week but I had no problems. Not sure how they get comfort out of that skinny hard mattress but I would not hesitate to use it again. Opening it was a problem, I couldn't do it, had to have the fiance pull it out every night. It was a struggle for him too because it slides on the floor when you are pulling. Miss the half wall in the shower, our excessive toiletries display had to go on the shower floor, we survived that too (without the need for confession:P).

I had the same problem with the sofa bed rolling on the faux wood floor when I opened it. My DH is disabled so can't help and I am an old lady. I had to try to keep one foot on the frame while pulling back and that is tough to do. It really is a problem.

That's good to hear. It's never really bothered us, either, but I know that others have complained. Maybe some of the complaints have altered the RAC operations to avoid some of the noise.

More likely, it probably has something to do with expectations and what we are used to hearing at our other home. :)

Just got back from a week stay in 2BR standard view. I had requested a refurbished room high floor, no luck. Resort was 100% full (not surprisingly). None of my requests were listed on my reservation.
As a PP said, construction was going on in the standard rooms mid way down from the front looked like 2nd and 3rd floors. Painting and cleaning with workers on the hi-low things which would be super intrusive. Appeared to span 2/3rooms across. I heard some sanding noise one morning but it wasn't too bad. I think we lucked out since they moved everything out to the back of the parking lot for Thanksgiving. I wouldn't want to be anywhere in the area where this is going on.
We were on first floor overlooking the duck pond (tennis courts). Super quiet area. Patios are not private since it goes the whole way across past all the rooms. Doorway leading out was quicker way to the bus stop and lobby.
Room even though not renovated was in good shape. Clown slide was still closed.
So it looks like as of right now, standard rooms on 2nd and 3rd floors in the middle of parking lot view are being worked on both inside and out.
As always CMs were great.

We stayed at BWV from 11/23-11/29. 11/23 we were in 2 studios--3007, a renovated boardwalk view room and 1044, a non-renovated feature pool view. Nothing on the first floor seemed to be renovated, old hallway carpeting everywhere. On 11/24, we got a renovated standard 2 bedroom--4125/4127, overlooking the pond/parking lot.

They suspended construction for all of Thanksgiving week, so we had no noise issues and scaffolding had been moved near the conference center.

We liked the look of the renovated rooms, partly due to it just feeling clean and new. I was happy to see that the curtains do have hidden Mickeys in them, as it is those little touches that I need to see in a Disney resort. The TV's look giant...and our bedroom was missing the remote...didn't notice until the day we were leaving as we never wanted to watch TV in the bedroom. (We did leave a note for housekeeping, along with a note that the shower drained very very slowly...)

Clown slide was closed, as noted by PP.

We had a great time for the week. We usually stay in studios and just get 2 bedrooms when we bring family/friends along--so it was a real treat to have the 1 bedroom side for ourselves and my dad got the studio side--he liked having the kitchenette. Our next trip is with friends...so another 2 bedroom. We're starting to get spoiled...not sure we'll be able to go back to studios after that. :earboy2:

Yes, same thing happened with us. They need to put something under it to keep it from moving--a rug, or even just some type of carpet pad that would keep the sofa in place while being opened.

Just returned from BWV on Wednesday. Had standard studio 4111. It was renovated...smelled very new. So new that I had to leave the balcony door open each day to try to air it out a bit!!! I loved the wall color...it's actually very similar to a color I have at home!! A nice muted green.
My biggest issue is storage. That little white dresser thingie doesn't hold much. I'm staying there, again, in January with my adult daughter. Looks like I'm bringing my hanging storage things that I use when cruising!!!!
My balcony had just been painted....there was a 'wet paint' sign on the railing when I checked in. But, it was dry the next day. I had a terrific view of IllumiNations!! That's a first. And it was very quiet...as long as the door was closed. It actually amazed me to hear how much noise there was outside...couldn't hear a thing when the door was closed!
This room was a bit of a walk from the elevators, but it was a very short walk to the stairways leading down to ground level and the walkway to the bus stop. And it was just a bit longer walk to the end of the building stairway that leads down to the walkway to DHS!

We checked out of 1-BR BW View 5009 this AM. Thought the kitchen countertops and backsplash were beautiful! We also like the wood-look floors (vinyl plank??) but noted they were already scratched. And boy does the coffee table slide easily - both when you want to move it and when you don't! (Put pillows on top to make it a footstool but it kinda kept slip-slidin' away!)

Our BW view HA one bedroom (2049) also had scratches on the living room floor, apparently from the sofa bed sliding. I know that the sofa beds DO slide when you try to open them. I like the new coffee table on wheels.

We checked out of 2119 yesterday morning - it was a 1 bedroom standard view and not yet rehabbed. That said, it was very clean and in very good condition - the appliances seemed new. I can see why it may be among the last to get the rehab. :)

The exterior crew parked their two bucket trucks just in front of our balcony each of the 8 nights we were there - a bit annoying, but it didn't really keep us from enjoying IllumiNations. We had a very good view of those awesome fireworks. I think they might be almost done with the standard side of the exterior work.

While we were there, I discovered another "pro" for the BWV - it does NOT rain in the air conditioned hallways leading to your room from the lobby. This is NOT true for the Poly. :teeth: Since the Poly Lake View studios cost the same number of points per night as the 1 bedroom SV villas at the BWV, we will gladly pass up any future opportunities to book the Poly. (That said, it was a treat to go to sleep looking at the castle in the distance and IMO, the view of Holiday WISHES from the LV studios surpasses that from TOTWL over at BLT).

Welcome home, Carol! Sorry you didn't get a rehabbed room but sounds like you had a good location. Wish I had run into you at BWV. We got home Thursday.

I checked out of 5007 studio yesterday morning! We were lockoff buddies!

Loved the renovation!

What a small world. I just checked out yesterday from garden view studio room 5008. So DebbieB, when you and I were talking about the incredible televisions, we were just right across the hall from each other. :listen: Monday was when I originally posted that the renovation was noisy and chaotic even down on my side which overlooked the Swan Dolphin [power washing the building to the left of me], but after that day, I never heard them again. I can certainly handle a day or two with not being able to use my balcony. I really felt sorry for all the people with standard views in front of the porte cochere. Those multiple cherry pickers that stayed in front of their rooms day and night would have been upsetting for me.

Isn't that funny! I wonder if we can find 5010! I wouldn't have been happy about the cherry pickers either. What would have upset me is they are giving VWL extra fast passes for construction, they should also give them to people whose balconies were unusable at BWV or had construction noise.
