I think the P/G view villas should be okay - it seems to be BW view (due to work on the exterior) being moved now. It seems like only the last wing, along the tennis courts, is blocked off now, and that's a small number of standard and P/G view villas and should be finished by July.
Do you have the old chairs or the new chairs on your balcony?
I don't see any black curtains on the standard/pool view hallways. I'm on the third floor.

No old rooms are being assigned. All rooms are either newly renovated or being renovated.
They have not completed all of the standard view villas, but any that are still in progress have already been taken off line, so no “old rooms” are being used at this time. Even if they haven’t finished all the renovations by July, you will still get a renovated villa. However, now that work is progressing on the last wing, furthest from the elevator lobby down toward the tennis courts, they should be finished with everything by July.
Not necessarily, given that your reservation is over a month out. They may not know the status of those rooms yet - although it seems all Standard view rooms are either done or in progress, we thought the same about the BW view rooms before they started the recent exterior work.
One of the best things about buying the DVC at such a low cost vs what rooms cost now is the ability to extend stays without it killing the budget. We get a 2 bedroom (6 of us) and wouldn't think about extending at cash prices, but usually come down a day early and 2-3 of us spend the first day working from the room. Get in about 9 pm, and then hit Publix at 7am, work from 9-5 and unpack during breaks. Have the room all set up and ready by 5. Hit Epcot for dinner and drinks and then a good night sleep. Makes the vacation start so relaxing
I really like your plan for WFH at BWV just prior to beginning your vacation. We are new DVCers, just bought in last summer. I can see my wife and I doing this. Sounds like a great way to begin.
This gives me hope because I'm doing the same thing for our Oct. trip. I was able to secure five nights but the last two were booked. I check the DVC site multiple times a day hoping this very thing will happen!
