bwv preferred view?

What is considered a preferred view in a studio at bw? Are there any rooms with a better preferred view than others? Can you make a request for room numbers?

75% of BWV is preferred view; different sizes of rooms are intermixed throughout the resort. Best preferred view is "boardwalk" view (only about 15% of all rooms in the resort) which you can now reserve as "boardwalk" view and you are locked into it at time of ressie if it is available. That view overlooks the boardwalk and the lake looking toward YC/BC and Epcot (you can see high fireworks of Illuminations). The other preferred views overlook the Luna (main) pool area, the quiet pool and the lagoon heading toward MGM. All of those face away from Epcot and, depending on location, you may see part of the lake, YC, Swan/Dolphin, or top of MGM. Other than boardwalk view, no specification at time of ressie is assured. Requesting specific room numbers is almost certainly a request that will not be honored at time of check-in; i.e., if the rooms happen to be open when you arrive, you will get them, but they will not do anything to hold those rooms open for your arrival.

Since so many of us try to get standard views, I wouldn't worry too much about the view for a preferred room. Most of us are happy with the standard. Yes, there are some views that are better than others. But I think it's very subjective. We had a preferred studio that was about Muscles and Bustles, facing Epcot and it was wonderful. But someone else wasn't crazy about that view. Said you really couldn't see much of Epcot. So, don't worry too much. And don't ask for a specific room number. No way is that going to work. I don't think you could even specify a particular floor!!

We booked a standard view, 2BR and got a view of the pond near the parking lot. Last year the "preferred" view was of the quiet pool and Community Hall. The points are a lot less for a standard, only thing is I think the standard has even a longer walk than preferred! If I had to request only one thing, it wouldn't be a view, it would be closeness to the elevators! That walk was the worst.

My preferred view was mainly of the valet parking lot and a service area driveway, but we also had a view of the canal and we could see TOT if we were out on our balcony and looked to the left. If you can't get a BW view, I'd request pool view.

Not all of the standard views are a far walk, some are close to the elevators. As you walk down the hall, the left side is standard (valet entrance and driveway), the right side is preferred (main pool, quiet pool).

We prefer the preferred view over the Quiet Pool as opposed to Luna Park (main pool)

my "preferred view" was of the valet parking lot and some pond or canal. we were one room away from being the last room. the walk was ridiculous and the "preferred view" terrible. i called the front desk. the cm verified that our room was indeed "preferred view". i told her i was not pleased with the walk or the view and they changed our room. luckily for us there was another room available to move to.

Sounds exactly like our situation. We were about 3rd room from the end. Rooms on the same side as ours.....just further down the hallway were actually considered "standard". I called the Front Desk and MS as well to question it because I thought they had made a mistake ! They were unable to switch us. That's why I now suggest to people, if they can't secure an actual BW view to ask for a pool view. I thought the pool PV were much nicer.
