Which do you prefer? Boardwalk VIlas or Beach Club Villas..Or are they similar enough for it not to matter. I am trying to arrange a last minute trip for my Family..2 children 11 and 12. Prefer a 1 bedroom.
Thanks for tips! And sorry if this is to "reposty"..I am searching the forums and finding plenty of info on each but not versus each other..
THanks again..

this is a personal taste matter.

I like BCV better - because it is not party central.

BWV can be party central - (not is) - so if your family wants to party - this is definitely the place.

you can't get much closer to the BW than this resort.

so if you fun things to do after EPcot closes - this might be the resort.

I like quiet and peace - I know boring.... However BCV also get access to SALB - the main pool at BC/YC. So if you have any good swimmers in your party - this is the resort you want.

The villas themselves are very similar with the exception of colors being slightly different...We prefer BCV's for access to SAB and the quiter atmosphere though. That way we get the pool and are within walking distance or boat ride to BW if we want to go over at night for an evenening activity. If you prefer the Keister coaster and clown theming of the main pool at BW than you may like that better than SAB...You cannot really go wrong with either though, it's really a matter of theming and taste. As for the rooms themselves though, except for the colors, they are pretty much the same.;)

Not sure if it's changed but I though BWV had video tape players and BCV had DVD players.

BCV has a better pool and is closer to EPCOT. BWV is closer to MGM. Really not a big difference. Most of units in BWV don't face the boardwalk and I don't think it's that much more of a party atmosphere. Really depends on the luck of who's staying near your unit.

Your biggest problem at this time will be availability. It might be difficult to get a villa at BWV or BCV for a last minute trip.

Take BCV is you want the pool, while BWV has the community center. I believe both places have DVD players. The water slide is easier to access at BWV than at BCV, but the sand is really nice at BCV. Its easier to access the both parks by boat from BWV(you have a choice of choosing the boat going to MGM or to Epcot) while BCV only has one choice, but walking to Epcot is much easier. You can't go wrong with either, and you may just want to choose the first one you get into.

BWV has combo Sony DVD/VCR's, they were installed about a year ago. Not sure about BCV.

On one trip a few years ago, I split my trip between the two resorts specifically so I could form an opinion on "which is better". For me-BCV-I preferred the theming and the quieter atmosphere. However, DS would choose BWV, he just prefers the more central feeling, being in the action. It's all choice. I will say that at the BWV, I had the most outstanding view (in a BW view) I've ever had in many trips to WDW. BWV view just blew me away.

Be aware that Stormalong Bay is mostly closed for repairs. The BWV pool is up and running.

You will have better luck getting a villa at the Boardwalk for a last minute trip. Check the DVC board to see if you can rent points.

HUH?! BCV's has the choice of boat or walking to both Epcot and MGM....kind of confused here about your statement of while BCV only has one choice.

I like both resorts, but BCV has my favorite places to eat: Beaches n Cream and Cape May. It's nice to be able to relax by the pool. I did notice that SAB's is more free form with rock formations etc... making it more difficult to keep track of your kids. :earboy2:
