BWV or BCV

First off both are great but here goes. BCV shorter walk to epcot, One of the best pools on property, A little quiter than BWV, BWV has more food choices, A liitle more stuff to do at night. Shorter walk to boats to the studios. Has the ESPN club (great) There really very close. We like BCV over BWV but we are older and like a more laid back resort. If we want night time fun we just walk over to BWV. You are going to love which ever one you choose.

BCV has SAB, practically a waterpark as it's main pool. I haven't stayed at BC but I did stay at YC three times and BWV twice. One thing that is a positive for BWV is that they do have two booking categories, standard view is the best bargain as far as points go at any DVC resort. I think the BW view is also a great plus. If it were me I would choose BWV, but I would be thrilled to own either. If I could do it over again I'd buy a resale at BWV, when I bought SSR I didn't know about resales.

Depends on what you like more. We love both and would be happy with either one. However we have 3 young kids that just love the BCV pool and the beach. I think BCV gets you best of both worlds as BW is a short walk and you can enjoy everything the BW offers. However, if you are at BWV you won't be able to enjoy the BC pool.

BWV does have the different views and cheaper pt option with SV.

For us at this point BCV works best but BWV is not that bad of a 2nd option for us. I also have to admit we loved all our DVC stays so far and wouldn't be too disappointed with any of them.

They are really so close that restaurants or nightlife shouldn't sway you to buy at BWV since you can easily walk there from BCV.

pro BWV:
Grand Villa only available at BWV
Beautiful Boardwalk view (including Epcot fireworks) only at BWV
negatives:
a little longer walk to Epcot but still totally doable
Epcot view rooms can be noisy at night

pro BCV
Stormalong Bay
Short walk to Epcot
Can still pool hop to BWV pool for change of pace (though don't know why you would)
More likely to use Beaches 'n Cream
negatives:
no GV's
no great views
longer walk to DHS, but it's pretty long from BWV anyway--and you could just take the boat

You can't lose either way! Both are great resorts! If you have kids, the pool is a major factor (BCV wins.) If you ever want a 3bdrm, you have to go with BWV. For the long-run, the view at BWV may be an even bigger factor than Stormalong Bay.

Hi: BWV owner so I am a touch biased but did consider adding on at BCV when it opened. I have stayed at both and they are both wonderful. The grand villas are awesome. I have never had a noise problem at either resort (we've stayed at all view classifications at BWV). We just got back from a great stay at OKW and BCV. We had room 553 and it had a view of Canada, the Land, and Spaceship Earth over the trees. Out on the balcony, there was a bit of road noise; but with the doors closed, there wasn't any road noise. The same is true of BWV- with the doors closed, there is little or minimal noise. My brother in law was in a 1br right next to Jelly Rolls on our October trip and didn't have any noise issues. Either resort is a great choice.

NO you may not pool hop to SAB @BCV. But can from BCV to BWV.
Ok as far as the walk to EPCOT arguement, seriously its about 3 minutes longer and its like 7-10 minute walk to DHS.
We own at SSR but mostly stay at BWV, we love this resort and will add on there, Soon as my BEAUTIFULL and very intelligent wife (just in case she is reading :duck:) release's me to do it.
I donot believe you will be disappointed either way tho! SAB is probably the most revered pool on Disney property (Kidani jury is still out).
BWV has access to really great eateries, altho just a short walk from BCV, BCV has BC and CM is great buffet and Yahtsman is very close, I could go on and on about all the +'s about both resorts but it truelly is up to you and your taste. The only real downside I have heard and read about BCV is lack of views from the rooms and standard vs prefered that BWV has...Shawn

Even if you don't swim (I don't), SAB can be great. I love to step in the sandy area of the pool and let the water get all the way up to my ankles. The "squish your toes" feeling is great-to me, at least. And being able to see the movies on the beach is another big plus, although you can walk over from BWV to see them. Also, I like that you can walk to B&C and to BCMarketplace without getting wet if it's raining.

These BCV and BWV threads are driving me nuts, I love them both so much but our next trip we are staying at BLT. Everytime I'm reading these posts all it does is reinforce how much I love the BW area resorts........who would have thunk that I'm feeling "ressie regret" for getting to stay at BLT with a few months of opening:rotfl::lmao::rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

We haven't bought into DVC yet, though we do plan to do so in the future. But we just returned from a great stay at the BWV's (we rented points). It was so great! I didn't think that I would love the BW as much as I did, but I absolutely fell in love. We ate at the World Showcase almost every night, and the pool at the BW is great as well.

My advice to you would be to stay at both before you buy, even though I doubt anyone could go wrong with these two choices. The only thing that might make me prefer BCV's over BWV's is the fact that because it is such a small resort that it might be more difficult to get into if it's not your home resort. BWV's have lots of rooms and I think it might be a little easier to get in there.

Good luck!:thumbsup2

No one has mentioned the parking. We love both resorts, but if you have a car, BCV parking is much more convenient. I have never seen the villas parking lot full, and we have always been able to park close by.

I differ a little bit on the distance of the walk from the International Gateway. I personally find the walk to BCV much shorter, especially after a long day in the parks. Before you even get to the BC, there is a gate which allows you to walk around the back to the BCV without ever entering the BCR. The BWV are at the most distant end of the BWR, so you have to cross over the bridge, pass by all of the restaurants and shops, go into the BW and walk over to the BWVs. Of course, as luck would have it, every time we have stayed at the BWVs we have been at the end of the hallway. That said, we also love ESPN Club, Flying Fish, and also enjoy having a cocktail after dark out on the porch overlooking the boardwalk at the lounge above the Flying Fish.

We first bought points at BWV and the big draw for us was the cost of Standard view rooms. We have tried the Boardwalk view and may again sometime but it was not worth the extra points for us.

We then bought BCV points only because we knew if we took the whole family we would need one of the villas to be the dedicated 2 bedrooms with the 2Qs. IF it weren't for that fact, and we book that villa at 11 months, we were happy using our BWV points at BCV at 7 months and we were never completely shut out from doing that. Now that we have the BCV points, we use THEM exclusively at BCV! Once in awhile, I still have to book another studio there at 7 months and again, we've been lucky that one has always been available so far. But if our DF's "had" to stay at BWV well, that wouldn't be a disaster. The resorts are very close to each other.

I am partial to BCV because of Stormalong Bay and because we stayed there on our honeymoon and because they are a closer walk to Epcot.

From an amenities standpoint, they are both equally as lovely.
