We will be arriving in just one week!! Could anyone give a brief description of the types of groceries available at the on site store?? We are staying just 4 nights and plan on eating most meals out so I don't think going to an actual grocery store before checking in is in order. ( maybe??) I have DS 7 and 2. Probably all I would need is milk, soda's and a few snack type things-oh also cereal. Just wondering if available and are the prices really that high??

Sorry for all the questions but it is our first trip home!!

Also--anyone?? Is there anything that any of you feel you absolutely need to bring from home that is not supplied?? (eg. salt/pepper) How about laundry soap?? Only enoughfor one load??

Thanks for any advice!!

hi: we usually do a small grocery stop on the way in, but we've bought some items from the general store. there is a printable grocery list on the dvc site under vacation planner in the members' section, but when i just accessed it to get a link for you, it didn't look to be working that well. i didn't try to get the lists for any of the other resorts. the prices were a bit higher than what we usually pay either at albertson's on the way in or at our grocery stores at home, but they weren't that outrageous. you'll find that even just having drinks, snacks, and most breakfasts in the room will save you a ton of money. have a great trip!

The on-site store has all the basic snack foods you will probably need, although the selection is not large. If you insist on a particular brand of potato chips, bring them from home, since they will only have one brand available. Prices are higher, you are paying for convenience. For example, a gallon of bottled water is around $3, while at home I pay $1.89. Aside from water, milk, pop (I'm from Michigan--to us, soda is that clear stuff put in a mixed drink):p cereal, mac and cheese, frozen pizza, donuts, ice cream, beer wine, etc., coffee, and so forth. They pack a lot in a small space, you just don't have a brand choice. You could probably eat several meals from the frozen foods that they have, if that's your choice. Salt and pepper are available, I think, and extra soap for clothes washing is available in the store, although I would bring those individually wrapped detergent squares that you can get at home. Also, bring your own dryer sheets, since these are expensive at Disney.

I am so excited for you--I wish I were going in a week!!
