I've read some threads here recently about the SV rooms at BWV and wondered about our upcoming trip in Jan. Last time we rented points & stayed at BWV we were in a studio-SV-looking out on the front entrance (about 1/2way down that portion of the building. I think we were on the 3rd floor. The room was nice and the walk to the room wasn't too long from the elevator, however, we heard lots of noise from the hallways and wanted to avoid that as much as possible.

So far on our reservations we've requested NS for medical reasons (asthma/allergies) and top floor. Do most people make any other requests as far as stating away from the elevator? Just curious as we'll need our rest for the 1/2 marathon & 5K and don't mind walking down long hallways. We know we'd probably end up with a parking lot view (which is fine) but wondered if there are worse things (like lots of service roads or service vehicle areas) that we'd be seeing if we asked for that.

Thanks in advance for your advice! :)

I'd suggest that you request to be near the tennis courts - those rooms are probably about as far away from the elevators as you can get with a standard view room. We've been in that area (don't mind the walk) and have had a view of the pond, nice landscaping and the valet parking lot in the distance.

I agree about hallway noise - to me, it's more bothersome than anything from the outside. I don't mind the kids running and talking and laughing, but why do the adults who come home late (1 am and later) have to talk so loud?? :confused3 :teeth:

Anyway, there is a service road near that area, but we were never bothered by anything that happened to be on it - occasionally saw one of the maintenance vehicles (like golf carts) . It wasn't a very busy road (more like a path) - it's not big enough for any cars or large vehicles. There are ducks and other birds around in the early mornings and you will be close to MGM and the quiet pool/Community Hall area and not too far from the bus stop, either.

I don't think many request areas away from elevators so I think you have an excellent chance of getting assigned to that area.

Good luck in the marathon!

Best wishes -

When I book standard view, I request top floor across from the bus stop. Top floor gives you a good view and across from the bus stop is about halfway down the hall.

We had a standard view studio at the very end around the corner from where the front entrance is. We overlooked a little water canal, saw the walkway to MGM, and could see tennis courts. I don't remember seeing a service road, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there (see how obtrusive it was?) The parking lot was off in the distance and didn't really bother us much at all. One thought is to re-think the top floor if you are going to be far from the elevators...we found 2 stairways (one that goes to the pool and walkway to MGM, and one that leads to the parking lot) instrumental being that far away. After a long day, it might be a feat to haul yourselves up to the top flight of the stairs. It definitely was very very quiet down there. We heard so much news as we walked down the hall to our room, but once we got there, it was really quiet. Good luck!

Thank you all for the advice! We really don't mind the stairs as much as the noise, so I think we'll go ahead and stick with the top floor, but be mindful that it could be a haul up there. :)

Do you think it would be too many requests to ask for though? "NS room for medical reasons, Top floor, Away from elevators" ? Or should we just ask for a room away from the elevators when we check in? I don't want to them to not give us a NS smoking room or something or seem like I am asking for too much.....

Thanks again for your help! :)

I don't think what you have listed is too many requests. Keep in mind that BWV is vey likely to be preassigning rooms, so you 'll want to have yours listed on the reservation. Also as I mentioned above, not very many guests request away from the elevators - you may not get top floor, but I'm willing to bet big you'll get N/S and away from the elevators. :)

Best wishes -

P.S. Never hurts to mention your requests again at check in -
