Looking for a HOT breakfast and a decent pool...I know these are the two hotels closest to Disney...I just can't decide. I think the pool at PVI looks much nicer, , and rooms are the same with 2 queens and about the same price. I can't find much about the breakfasts for each...we are on a tight budget and if we can grab some bacon and eggs in the morning to get us going that would be prefect...I am not expecting a gourmet breakfast at all...just enough choices so everyone is full....Any advice would be appreciated!!!!

I like the BWPPI and you can usually get a good deal by calling and asking for the no car discount if you wont be renting a car while at Disney.

I don't really like their breakfast but most people seemed like they liked it when we went over to the buffet. Just don't expect very much from the food and it might surprise you or it might not.

The BWPPI also has good customer service and they usually are good at accommodating requests if you have any :)

I've heard they have improved it, but the only "hot" item at the BWPPI buffet last year was white gravy for the biscuits. Everything else was just carbs. The only fruit was juice.

We stayed at PVI last trip. It was OK. Not great, but nothing particularly bad. Don't think you can get any closer to the entrance. Beds were comfy. Rooms are dated but clean. Do NOT stay on the first floor though. Its and older (not soundproof) hotel and we heard every footstep from every person walking down to breakfast.
The breakfast itself was OK, but this was over a year ago, so check recent reviews. When we went they had a self-serve Belgian waffle maker, donuts, bagels, 1 egg dish that changed daily, 1 potato/grit dish that changed daily, fruit (that I think was fresh and canned mixed together), and the usual drinks that go with breakfast.

We stayed at BWPPI in February. We had a 2 queen room. The room was quite large, very clean and quiet. The beds were incredibly comfortable! The pool looked nice although we didn't use it. Breakfast was great! Eggs, sausage or ham, carbs, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, toaster waffles, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, juices, etc. It really kept us full and we were able to bring some fruit with us for snacks at the park. It was our first stay there and we've stayed at 10 other places along harbor and katella. This is by far our favorite now. We will be staying there again in August.

Our family liked the breakfast at BWPPI too. All of the dishes named in the previous posters comment. Lots of variety. People would come upstairs and when they saw everything there was they would start asking those of us already eating if it was all free, if this was really the free breakfast.

We stayed at PVI in Feb, and made GOOD use of the free breakfast, LOL! From what I can remember right now, there was: bread, bagels, pastries, scrambled eggs, sausage, potato squares, fruit, make-your-own waffles, some fruit, associated condiments, coffee, tea, 3-4 juices, and hot cocoa. We were well-fed walking into the parks!

As far as the pool area goes, we used the pool once, and we were impressed. It was very clean; the water was sparkling. It wasn't huge by any means, but it was a fair size. DD said it wasn't too warm or too cold. I liked that it was "visable" without being "veiwable" if that makes sense... There was a fence, but it was covered in shrubbery, so you knew the pool and such were there, and could probably see it from the second floor rooms, but it didn't feel like we were "on display" running around in our bathing suits.

We stayed at BWPPI in April, and used the pool one afternoon. It was okay, but crowded when we were there. Nothing very special or unique about it. The breakfast was very good for a free hotel buffet. Eggs, toast, bagels, muffins, breakfast pastries/donuts, ham or sausage, toaster waffles, 4 kinds of cold cereal, oatmeal, a couple kinds of juice, milk, coffee, tea, etc.

This was our 3rd stay at BWPPI, and the breakfast has greatly improved over what it used to be. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The only downside was they were doing construction on the front of the building while we were there, and sections of the parking lot and sidewalks were not accessible. Not a huge deal, but a little inconvenient.

We stayed at the BWPPI in February. I liked that the rooms were large and the beds were comfy. The hot breakfast was hot, but not great. We ate there a couple times and then switched to breakfast sandwiches from Starbucks for our other mornings.

We were at PVI last week. When are you going? BWPPI currently has construction going on at the front- lots of tarps and such. For breakfast we had eggs, bacon, fruit, cottage cheese, yogurt, waffles, toast, bagels, 3 kinds of cereal. I liked putting egg and bacon inside a bagel! We love free breakfast. Breakfast started at 7 and the park opened at 8 so we were there right at the beginning. In the lobby of the hotel they had juice, and usually apples or cookies. The cookies were super good, but not always available.

The front desk help was always friendly and helpful. Our TV wasn't working (was on the wrong setting) and maintenance was there in just a few minutes. On our last morning they held our bags at the desk while we went to DTD and had a taxi called for us at the time we specified. The pool was satisfactory and the hot tub felt great on our tired legs. Once you are inside the gates it doesn't feel like you are in a parking lot.

We were on the second floor. We did have some noise from people walking by to breakfast, but that was it and it wasn't a problem. We could see the fireworks from outside our door.

The room was clean. The beds were kind of hard, but I expect that most places. There are two choices of pillows- big and fluffy, and fairly flat. My only suggestion on their online survey was that they should change their shower curtains to be solid. Ours had a clear strip right at chest height. Normally our family (especially us 3 girls) would use the toilet while someone else is behind the shower curtain but not when the curtain is partially clear.

This has gotten to be a long review, but in short we were happy with our stay at PVI.

Thanks everyone....looks like we will be staying at PVI because BWPPI is sold out out for our dates. PVI was my original choice anyway, so I am happy with my decision. We are watching a Disneyland video right now...getting excited!!!

We just got back from staying at the BWPPI for 3 nights. The buffet is in the upstairs of the Captain Kidds next door. They had - potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage or ham (changed each morning), waffles, donuts (chocolate and powdered sugar), danishes (cream cheese and raspberry? not sure didn't have these), bagels, bread for toast, yogurt (strawberry and strawberry banana), apples, oranges, bananas, cereal (fruit loops, corn flakes, raisen bran, something else?) and instant oatmeal in a couple varieties. Milk, coffee, hot chocolate, orange juice, apple juice, water to drink. It wasn't remarkable but it was enough variety and filling that our group ate well.

Room was clean and nice looking with everything in working order and plenty of space for 6 people (beds and sofa sleeper). Parking was a little cramped and hard to find a space. But the walk over was super easy and as close as you can get, only the slightest bit closer than PVI.
