BWI overbooked Feb. 1st - upgrade

Anybody else get upgraded for the first week in Feb. from BWI? This is what happend to our friends who were travelling with us. We were booked into BWV and they had a room reserved for BWI, but when the checked in they were told BWI was overbooked. So they upgraded them to a one-bedroom villa on the BWV side with a wonderful boardwalk view on the fourth floor. They loved their room and were extremely pleased with their upgrade. They have two little boys so they were really pleased with the extra room plus kitchen and laundry! We watched the top of the Epcot fireworks from their room several nights.

Anybody else get moved last week?

I think this is how they get people to buy into the Disney Vacation Club. Same sort of thing happened to me, and now I am a proud owner! I was actually booked at Port Orleans, bumped over to BWI, and an invitation to tour was waiting in our room. We weren't placed in any ordinary room either...it was a cottage suite, concierge!

I have mastered the art of getting bumped to concierge by my elaborate shmoozing technique, but have not found the right key to moving up the resort food chain. How did you get the bump up? We have thought about purchasing the vacation club in the past. Should I mention this? Thanks for the help!

The same thing happened to my husband and me when we were on our honeymoon. We were upgraded from an Inn room to a 1-bedroom as well, and ummm . . . we now have BWV as our "home" resort. I wondered as well if DVC did this to entice folks to but into DVC. Worked for us, and we're very happy with our membership.

That's amazing! It's great to hear of these nice things happening!
