We have a water view room at the Boardwalk Inn. According to the Disney website and to the CM I spoke with on the phone, a water view will guarantee us a view of the Boardwalk and Crescent Lake. (The CM told me there was no need to add a request for a Boardwalk view to my ressie because it was guaranteed with the water view.) But, I've read on here that a water view may be a pool view. According to the CM, though, that used to be true back when the BWI had three view types (water, garden, and standard) but is no longer true now that they have only water views and standard views.

Here's a quote directly from the Disney World website....

"Standard View offers views of Disney's BoardWalk Inn gardens, leisure pool or parking area."

"Water View offers views of Disney's BoardWalk and Crescent Lake."

Here's the page where I found that info: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/board-walk-inn/rates-rooms/

So.....does anybody know for sure? We really want that Boardwalk view, and I don't mind paying for a water view to guarantee it....but I hate to pay the extra to end up with a view of the pool

Not sure about a water view but the best room we ever had was 5051 at the BW villas. It was a one bedroom that overlooked the courtyard and faced Epcot. We could watch all the activity in the grassy green and see fireworks at Epcot. Hope that you have the great experience that we did at the Boardwalk. It is now my DD (17) favorite place to stay!;)

Yes you will have a BW view. The pool view rooms are now considered "standard view"- and a great one at that. There is about a 15% chance that you may get a boardwalk greens views, which while still nice, it's not straight on BW- but you still can see much of the boardwalk. The water view rooms are very nice and worth the extra if you an aford it. Don't ask for "close to elevator" if you want a full on boardwalk view. They are a little further down the hallway but lovely. PM me if you have any other bw questions:thumbsup2

Thanks! That's very, very helpful information!

I believe in the "Inn" this is the case. In the Villas, water view could also mean a view of the canal to DHS with a view of Swalphin...

HI, we plan to stay in the BI for 2 weeks in Aug 2010..........what do you think? Last year we stayed in the Floridian and loved it, but we want to stay somewhere different this time and the BI looks like it has a fab location....I would appreciate your views, thanks

We just got back from the Boardwalk Villas and can't imagine staying anywhere else. Easy walks to Epcot and HS make such a huge difference. Having the Boardwalk and all that goes with it (including any sports event you want to watch at ESPN!) is such a benefit. We're not pool people, but we did have a pool view and saw a lot of people having a great time. That said, BC, YC, Swan and Dolphin are all within the same area. So, if avoiding the bus/monorail hassle for these two parks is important to you, BWV, for us, is the way to go. Other benefits are the washer/dryer we had in our 1 bedroom villa. We packed very light and did wash every couple of days, and the full kitchen...ate breakfast in the room before heading out for the day. Saved a ton of money doing this. Let me know if you have other questions.

Thanks for that. We do have 3 children aged 7, 5 and 3...........would you say that it is still suitable???? Also, do you know how to post a new thread on DIS............??????????? Sure that it is easy, but just can't see where or how to do it, any advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks
