Buzz's Brigade 2009 - Moving to Infinity and Beyond!!!

Hello :goodvibes

Checking in with my first "duathlon" tonight - I went to the gym at work and ran 1.5 miles on the TM, took a 55 min spin class, and ran another 1.5 miles on the TM. I was getting bored running my 4-4.5 miles on the TM so I decided to do something different. I will sleep well tonight!!!

I did my last double digit run over the weekend before the Princess Half Marathon. 10 miles at the indoor track was not pretty, but it's done! I have one more LR (6-8 miles? haven't decided yet) and then I'm off to the world!

Sounds like everyone is working hard. Keep up the good work :thumbsup2

Have a great night...

Great Job Lisa!!! Boy you are gonna feel that in the morning! ;)

Wow, I can't believe how that Princess Half has snuck up on me. Good luck!!

Ha, ha, I already feel it now. I haven't had to ice my knees since my 10+ mile runs when I was training for a marathon last year.

Hope your training for Country Music 1/2 is going well. I'm excited for that one as well. I've already started looking for touristy things to do while I'm there for the weekend (since I've never been there before).

You're coming too? How exciting!!! There's gonna be lots of Buzzies there. I'm still not sure if the family is coming or not. Mainly because we haven't had a chance to actually sit down and discuss it. The lady at the HI is holding two types of rooms for me though. :thumbsup2

Allie- I know how you feel worrying that you'll be injured before the race. I almost didn't want to do anything the last few weeks before the Disney Half because I was afraid I would ruin it and not be able to run at all. 9 weeks is plenty of time! Add one weekday run this week and another next week. You can do it!

Casey- Congrats on the 10k! 40 miles in a week:scared1: Way to go!

Lisa- Great job on the 10 miler (I can't imagine doing that on the indoor track)! Sounds like you're in great shape for the Princess Half.

I hit the gym again this morning for a workout on the elliptical. I'm getting really excited for spring and some warm weather outdoor running:yay:

Everyones doing a great job.:thumbsup2
I had to have yesterday off as my chair is broken, I had to crank home very slowley on monday and it did not sound good. My DH has had a go at fixing it, hoping to try it out later today to see.
I don't worry about injury, I worry about a flat tire or broken crank.:rotfl:

Well DH fixed my chair :cheer2:
We went out to train, the wind was really bad and I thought about cutting it short, but as I hadn't trained the day before I pushed on.
I set a new PR for 13.1miles, 1:17 and a new top speed: 22.29mph, if only I could do this speed for longer than 2 secounds :rotfl:

Hi, my buddy Buzzies -- so much training going on! I'm so inspired by you all!

I am pretty down in the dumps. My normal training routine now is: get up, walk until it hurts so much I have to stop, stretch to try to deal with the pain, repeat. My problems seem centered around tendons -- my old friend the right Achilles and now my ITBs (which I was actually relieved to discover because I had feared I was going to need hip replacement surgery there for a while <shaking head>). I realize now how lucky I've been to have been running and walking painfree for all these years.

But enough whining!

Mainly I just wanted to say hello to you and let you know you are not forgotten. I am still headed to the Princess Half in a little over a week. I don't know how it will go, but I certainly plan to pack some anti-inflammatories. I love to read of your training adventures. Keep on keeping on!

Good to have you back and whine away! That's what we are here for!

Hey everyone else! :yay:

Got in a 4 miler last night and took the kiddo out for some hoops. She really enjoys playing basketball so it was fun. Feeling much better now although I'm not 100% I'm happy to be feeling better.

Hope everyone is out and about! Lets get moving.......

I just moved new PR: 13.1 miles in 1:15.
The wind is bad at the moment, but trying to keep the chair at 11mph in it, at least it is making me stronger, so when there is no wind I should motor.:moped:

I'm posting my February miles and minutes a little early because I leave for WDW tomorrow morning! :yay: My sister will be bringing a laptop, but I don't know if I'll be able to borrow it at all to get online.

So, my total for the month is...

79.4 miles
1055 minutes

Wow, I've never added up all the time I spend working out before. No wonder my BF complains that I'm never home.

syko and Lisa, I look forward to meeting you at WDW!
To the rest of the team, keep up the great work. It'll be fun seeing our team total for February and I hope you all get off to a great start for March.

Lisa, Lisa and Kirstie-Louise,

Good luck and have a great time! :cool1:

I have been watching the broadcast from HS today on EPSN2. Wish I were there!!

Wendy, I hope your achilles and ITB symptoms disappear! :wizard:

I'm aggravated myself b/c I seem to develop another problem as soon as one goes away. I am now waking up at night with pain in the ball of my foot (it doesn't hurt during the day). It feels like my foot is bruised and the little toes have a burning sensation. That doesn't sound good, does it? I'm calling the podiatrist tomorrow. I will get out to walk or run in the meantime, though (better squeeze in the exercise in case he tells me to rest!!).

I'm going out of town tomorrow so here are my numbers:
13 miles, 9.5 hrs strenght training, 4 hours other misc cardio. I will do better next month, I haven't been able to run in close to 2 week because of coughing.

Don't know if I did that right.

Any way good work Syko & HGH, very impressive both of you!

Thanks for all the good luck wishes for the ESPN 5K, I know that Lisa, Lisa and myself will do our best to make the Buzzies proud.(and all those double miles.)

I'm only going to do a short session today, through a trail that is full of turns. I think its about 4 miles.....soon find out.
Then its off to pick up a medictag for my chair and collect my race bib at 4pm.

Good Luck to our Buzzies in the ESPN 5k. Can't wait to see the medal and hear the reports. Take lots of pictures. :thumbsup2

Good luck to everyone participating in the ESPN 5k this weekend! You'll do great:cheer2: Can't wait to hear all about it!

Wendy- Sorry to hear that you're in pain. Hope you're able to get back out there soon!

Chris- Glad to hear you're feeling better!

Syko- Seems that you're setting a new PR every day! Awesome!

Debbie- Hope your foot heals soonpixiedust:

I'm back in the swing of things now. February wasn't the best month for me exercise-wise. I think I was kind of burnt out from training for the half marathon and needed to take it easy for awhile. I'm enjoying getting back to it now! I've also challenged myself to do my pilates DVD every other day for the next 2 weeks (10 minutes abs, 10 minutes arms). I really struggle with sticking with a strength training routine... hopefully this will start to make it a habit. I'll be back to report numbers for Feb. next week!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Got to the Y nice and early on this rainy morning and claimed a spot in Zumba class! Great teacher, lots of fun. The miles and hours in my signature are up to date, so there's my totals for February.

Can't wait to hear about everyone's races!

Good luck to those Buzzies who are at Disney for ESPN Weekend!! :thumbsup2

I still have to do my six mile run for today, so I'll be back with totals later Chris. ;)

With warmup and cooldown, I am hoping to pass 80 miles! :yay: :cheer2:

Ok Chris, here it is:

My totals for the month of FEBRUARY:

Miles: 81.13

Hours: 20:29:33

I tried to make it big so you would see it. ;)
