Buying Water....

My family and I will be flying down in a few days from Pennsylvania. I'm concerned about keeping hydrated. I know that any counter service is obligated to provide cups of water, however, I prefer to have my own supply.

We are staying at the Art of Animation. Is there any place we can buy a case of water? I mean, even if it's a gas station a mile up the road, I'll literally run to it.

I have also been kicking around the idea of taking an insulated Polar bottle or two for refilling at the parks. If I were to give these bottles to a CM at a counter service, would they fill those, or do i just have to roll with the cup of water?

Thanks!

You can stop at a Grocery store on your way in (Publix, Target, Walmart) or you could order it online and have it shipped to the resort. I know alot of people use Staples for this, also Costco, Amazon and Walmart. Just have it shipped to your resort with your name and c/in date on the shipping address.

I "think" AoA does sell cases of water-most,if not all WDW Resorts do now, even the Values.

CS restaurants are not allowed, per health regulations to fill Guests' own bottles-they have to give you the water in their cups.:)

I have a reusable bottle and I fill it and freeze it the night before. The ice will take a bit to melt completely which will chill the water from the fountains when you refill it. Keep it in a ziplock and wrap a washcloth around it and you will have a cool, wet cloth to wipe your face off with later on. If you can't freeze your bottle and plan on getting a refillable mug, go get some ice in the morning and fill up your bottle with that. If the drinking fountains skeez you out, just think about how hot that metal gets in the Florida sun - plenty hot enough to destroy most germs.

^ You can always get the cup and pour it into your polar bottle though. The water they give you will be ice-cold, unlike water from the fountains.

Just know the free water is not tap water, it is the filtered water they use for the fountain drinks. didn't know if it was the quality of the water that was a concern.

I always have to have a case or two of water when at Disney. I don't care for the taste of FL tap water. If you don't have a car, the closest place to get a case (or 2) of water is the Hess station outside Boardwalk. You can walk there from Boardwalk. It is about $7 for a case of 24 which saves a ton of money. I think some of the DVC resorts also sell cases now but I am not sure of the price.

The water you get at the fountain stands is NOT tap water. It is filtered water used in the fountain drinks. Often times filtered water is even cleaner than spring/botttled water.

We use Garden Grocer to bring all the water, breakfast and snack items we'll be needing for the trip into the parks.

The resort shops sell distilled water (great for coffee or water that you plan to add flavorings too) by the gallon. $3

You can ship water to your resort and they will hold it till you check in. I think Staples has free shipping or Amazon Prime

You can order from one of a few shopping sites that deliver to the resorts. wegoshop or garden grocer but they have minimum order requirements and charge a service fee.

You can buy bottled water at the resort gift shops. $2.75 (just went up) singles and something like $7 for a 24 pack.

If you have a car there is a Publix, Superwalmat, Supertarget all within 15 minutes of resorts. Gas stations next to DTD and Beach Club/Boardwalk area

You can bring a large refillable (I have a 64 oz Nalgene) bottle and fill it up at the resort foodcourt/cs restaurant. (water and ice are not chip dependent) I am not a tap water person and drink filtered water 99% of the time. The water out of the soda fountains is fine with no sulfur taste.

I do the first and last things plus bring a small refillable that I carry in the parks and refill at an CS that has a independent soda fountain. I will get a cup is that is the only choice as they will not take your bottle and fill it behind the counter.

Garden Grocer is great. They delivered distilled water for our babies' bottles plus a case of bottled water, breakfast stuff, snacks and baby wipes.

Garden Grocer for beer and wine too. They also have the "hard" drinks too. No liquor in the bottle though like Jack.
