I need help understanding the process of buying at two different resorts.
I want to know if it is possible to buy 150 pts at SSR through resale and then adding on 50 pts from AKV through DVC for a total of 200 pts. Assuming that both have the same use year, how would I be able to use my pts.? Is this a good strategy? If I want to be able to make an 11 month resi at AKV, will I be able to use all 200 pts or only the 50 bought at AKV? Please help me understand how these multiple contracts work.

If you buy your first contract resale, any add-ons you do through Disney will automatically have the same Use Year. You will only have a different UY if you buy the second contract resale, or if you buy at least 160 points direct and want the two contracts to be seperate for some reason.

The home resort booking advantage pertains only to points you own at that resort. So...no, you would not be able to combine points at 11 months. You would be able to combine them at 7 months, but not at 11.

That's still not to say that a split ownership is not a good strategy however. Don't forget, you can bank and borrow, so that 50 point contract could actually be 150 points for a trip every third year.

Thank you for the info. One last question...
So, if I wanted to make a reservation at 11 mos. for AKV I could only make a reservation that utilized 50 pts?

In your AKV priority window you could only use AKV points- if you have a 50 point contract, with banking and borrowing you could make a res that required up to 150 points as the previous poster stated- but if do a 150 pt. reservation you will be using 3 years points at once.
