buying Turkey?

when do you buy your bird if it is frozen when do you put in fridge to thaw? if fresh does it taste different?

I buy a frozen turkey about the 2nd week of November so that I can still find a good one for a good price. I pull it out of the freezer about 4 days before Thanksgiving and start thawing in my fridge.

I buy a fresh one about a week before Thanksgiving. Even the fresh ones are almost frozen. I leave it in the fridge till I need it. I hate dealing with frozen ones because I can never time it right to unthaw. I usually found myself standing next to sink running cold water over it for hours the night before Thanksgiving. Now I only use fresh. I never noticed a taste difference between the two. I do only buy a name brand one lile Turkey Hill. They are always moist and tasty.

I'm buying a turkey today cause I need it for next week. It usually takes about 3-4 days in the fridge to thaw out completely.

The part I hate is having to take out all that stuff out of the turkey. I feel like I'm reaching is someone's stomach and taking out his guts!
