Has anyone bought Disney park tickets from Undercover tourist.com? I want to buy a 6 day park hopper, water/fun for 5 of us, and Sea world, Busch Gardens, and Aquatica from them! I was warned by a Facebook friend to be careful that she has heard some horror stories about buying from them, but didn't say what the problem was? She also said that she thought Disney had gone to a finger scan system to prevent outside ticket sales?

However, most books have recommended Undercover Tourist as did a lot of DISer's when I asked about buying discount tickets?

Has anyone had any problem using this company or does anyone know anything about finger scanning?

The finger scan occurs when you go through Disney gates, so unless you buy previously owned tickets, that's not an issue. Undercover tourist tickets are brand new never used tickets. I've bought from them many times and never had anything but great service. Buy with confidence!

I bought our Universal tickets for our last trip through them, got the best price and great service :thumbsup2.

The finger scan issue is only a problem if you are buying a partially used ticket from a scammer or someone claiming they are allowed to sell the days left on used tickets. UT is a highly reputable company which gets their tickets directly from Disney. You should have no issues at all with purchasing tickets from them. :goodvibes

You won't find people who post on these Boards who had problems with Undercover Tourist. They are the best price, they ship very quickly, if you have a problem of any possible description, they will go above and beyond to assist you in the most positive way. Not many companies I can say that about. I have UCT tickets at home right now, for my trip in Nov. I've bought from them multiple times, and price-compared each time. When comparing prices of different ticket outlets, make sure you know if prices are with/without tax and with/without a shipping charge. UCT ticket prices are tax-included, and ship free.

The fingerprint scan problem is about WDW guests who have used up their ticket assets but the tickets are still upgradable. Scammers will buy the used-up tickets for next to nothing and upgrade them cheaply. Then they'll turn around and sell them to some unsuspecting new WDW visitor, someone who is too trusting and should know better, but can't resist a deal that's too good to be true. When the new people go to use the tickets, and get their finger scanned, obviously it won't match with the existing finger scan for the original owner of the ticket. Disney Security will come along and they'll have a discussion. The poor victim will have to buy tickets again, this time legitimately. His original ticket money ($$$$) and the scammer will be long-gone. pirate:

There's a current ticketing CM who posts on the boards, and helps a great deal. He is happy to tell us what sellers do not appear on the authorized resellers list. He has never mentioned that UCT is one of those that are not authorized, by Disney, to sell tickets. (make sense? plainly, they are authorized by Disney to sell tickets)

Your friend is NOT giving you good info.

The ONE time there has been a post about problems with UCT tickets, it turned out that the CMs helping the Dis'er just didn't have a clue. It wasn't a UCT problem at all, and in fact they helped make it right on both the customer's end AND on Disney's end, making sure everything was still OK.

we've used them for quite a few years, without a single problem or concern.

fast shipping, good communication, and passes have always been exactly what we purchased :)

I bought tickets from Undercover Tourist for our last trip in June. I paid for express shipping and had the tickets within a few days. I had no problem at all adding the tickets to my room card at the resort. We had no issues getting into the park.

their friend is on the right track...just not completely accurate in this specific case.

buying wdw tickets from most outside sources is a terrible idea.

but yes, UT is one of the few authorized wdw ticket sellers, along with AAA and mapleleaftickets where this general advice is not right...

I bought from UT and had no problem. It took 32 days for my ticket to be shipped, so if you are in a time crunch, choose express shipping.

We've used UT twice without any issues. On our trip last month where we stayed on-site, I took the tickets to the hotel's front desk and asked them to transfer the tickets to our room key cards which they were able to do quite easily. It was easier for us to not have to worry about paper tickets getting wet.

Now on a side note, one day when DS and DD went to a different park than DH and I for part of the day, we had a ticket mix-up where DS and DH had each other's tickets by mistake. DH and I didn't notice until we got to the gate. DH went ahead and put the card through the machine and did the finger scan. It worked just fine. DS didn't have a problem using DH's card either, so I don't know how reliable those finger scanners really are.

Did you buy around the time that the prices went up? If so, this is not a surprise!

If not, wow, you really should have called. Any time I've ordered from them, tickets have shipped out within just a couple of days.

OP, if you do a search on here, you'll see many happy customers of UT. We've bought from there and been pleased with the quick service and the guarantees. You're not going to get a lower price; I'd definitely recommend them!

The OP needs to subscribe to the mousesavers newsletter. In that newsletter that comes out each month, there's a special link to UT that gives a better discount on the tickets vs just going to the UT website. That extra discount only available to mousesavers subscribers.

I'm going to echo most of the other posters here. I've used them twice and have nothing but good things to say. They are an official Disney reseller, which is the only kind I have used. I find their prices are a shade lower than buying from Disney directly. It's not a huge savings, but hey, this is a budget board, right? Every penny counts.

Used them twice with no problems! :thumbsup2 I know it's a little scary to send that much money to someone and hope the tickets will work when you get there, but they are an authorized retailer, as others have said. And yes, use the Mousesavers link for a little more money saved.

Would you mind sharing how much more of a discount mousesavers gives? Maybe I should give UT a try. Thanks.

It's only a few more dollars. Generally not worth worrying about too much.
