Just wondering if anybody's purchased magic bands from eBay.

We will be visiting the World in July, but want character Magic bands for my daughters. Frozen for my youngest and stitch for my oldest.

Although Ill be paying more for them on eBay I dont want to risk getting to the World and not be able to find them the Bands they want.

Any thoughts?

You should make sure that the bands have never been linked to any MDX account. Not sure how you can authorize that before you receive them, unless you want to take the seller's word.

The Frozen MagicBands and Stitch MBs are open stock items and are not Limited in any way. Only Olaf from last summer is Limited - it activates audio at the tapstiles.

If you want them ahead of time, purchase bands that are new, unlinked, and in original packaging.

Personally I wouldn't chance it. There are lots to choose from and and they keep adding more. I don't think they'll have a problem finding one they love. Look at this website for lots of information on them before you do anything .... http://www.magicbandcollectors.com/

PS I don't think you will have any problem getting Frozen, there's already plenty of them, and I don't think Stitch is going to go away ......

Thank you, OP, for asking this question. We were going to get the exact same ones (elsa for me, stitch for DH). I really appreciate this thread :)

You can buy MB decals on Etsy….just ordered some for my family and they are about $5 each.

I was under the impression you had to link a mb to a ticket when you bought it?
At least I thought I read that in the Star Wars thread.
I wanted to buy one for a friend as a collectable but didn't want to attach a ticket to it, so reading above it seems like this is possible???
Confused, thanks

It used to be that way, now all retail MagicBands can be purchased with the 'Link-It Later' option.

Just a note, I've read that they will eventually be selling the character bands on the disneystore.com website at some point in the future. Not sure when your trip is, but you may just want to wait for that, instead of ebay.
