Buying Small Contract - Different Home Resort

After buying your contract(s) of any size to meet your family needs at one resort, did you ever come back and buy a smaller contract (50 point or less) at a different resort ? For those who have done this, was the 11th month booking the only reason? Did the small contract ultimately meet your needs ? Would you do it again ?

The only reason to buy another home resort is for the 11 month booking window, that is why we bought 6. Our contracts are sized to enable us to vacation at the home resorts, we can rotate the resorts, one stay at a MK resort and next time an Epcot resort.

We didn't buy a really small contract at another resort we did buy 95 points at VGF after our main 220 at AKV. The idea was 4 nights at VGF to end our trips and eat at V&As, CG and Narcooses visit the Spa have pool days and generally unwind and relax after doing the parks with our AKV points.

Our plan is to only ever use those points at home resort unless unforeseen circumstances force otherwise.

IMO, that is why the vast majority buy a small contract at another resort. It's a big part of the reason that booking the smaller, near park resorts at 7 months is becoming more and more difficult. That makes the advice to" buy where you don't mind staying if your first choice isn't available" more and more important!
