Buying Poly points if you live in NYS

Hello! Does anyone know if the Poly has been cleared to be sold in New York State yet? I spoke with our rep on Jan 12th, and at the time he said that 9 states ( including California and Texas) weren't cleared yet. I'm just getting anxious to get our contract added on I guess...TIA!

I've been trying to find info on this too, but the details appear hard to come by. We're trying to find out what's up with CA. Someone did post that Texas was approved about a week ago.

I spoke with mine on 1/12 and was quoted prices, etc. but was then told he could not yet sell to NY residents unless we came to his office at WDW. He said he would call back as soon as sales opened up. Despite leaving several messages we have not received any updates. I am assuming at this point they are not allowed further contact.

It is very frustrating to be shut out of the (even though small) discount and the early booking window. We were hoping for a stay at the Bungalows in the fall.

I'd still leave a message with your guide with details on exactly what you want to buy. My guess is that they would honor the current price with that information although that is just a guess. I'd also not be too concerned about not being able to book right away. My best guess on that is you'll get the reservation.

You shouldn't be shut out of the discount. In 2013 we lived in France and my guide couldn't sell me VGF points until we got to WDW in August. Because they actually couldn't sell them to me they were allowed under their standard rules togo back to the price at the time I wanted to buy. I got them for $145 in August 2013.

I agree with Denise.

Several years ago, our guide said as long as he receives a verbal, electronic, or written record of the intention to purchase the data before the deadline, they will honor it. When we bought our first contract, our guide was not in on the last day of the deal. We called and left a voice recording and that was all he needed to guarantee the deal.

Hmm, just hung up from trying to call the DVC switchboard (not MS), and got a recording that no one can take a call at the moment due to a "special function." Kind of weird for a sales function, wouldn't you at least leave an operator online? Was trying to get an update on California, as we're going to pull the trigger this week on an add on and I'd still like to use my CA based guide if possible. He still does not appear to be allowed to return phone calls.

The Aulani mess took months to fix and several States took even longer.

Not much you can do but wait until they are registered for sales in NY or take a trip to WDW. On the positive side there are plenty of rooms not declared into the association and by contacting your Guide now, they can probably get you a reservation after you close.

Legally I don't think they are allowed to communicate on any level with locations that are not registered.

I'm from the UK but we used to live in France and my guide thought we were still there. When I called my guide for a VGF add on and when I told him it was me his first words were I can't talk about Poly at all with you.

For haha's I took a look at the Nevada registration and they filed in Sept of 2014 for the license to sell PVB. Now keep in mind they filed for VGF in Feb of 2013 but did not have the approval until well after sales started and to be honest I'm just assuming that PVB can be sold here. For whatever reason the state was very very slow to approve the license for sales at VGF.

My understanding is that each timeshare project is registered separately.

I have no doubt each timeshare is registered separately. I would be shocked if they did not have to file each new resort with different paperwork for each state.

The data I'm seeing indicates people were in NY were receiving contracts for VGF very early after sales started. FYI, not in Florida contracts on property, but in their home state.
For PVB, the data I'm seeing so far seems to agree with the posts that PVB is not for sale in several states even though it's more than a month after sales started.

I know when Aulani had to re-file it took some States months to issue re-approval.

Were the Aulani MF issues discovered by Hawaii or was it another state that found the problems?

NY seemed to be a popular buyers of VGF during that first month where only existing members could buy. (May/early June 2013)
