Someone please explain to me how this works.

I am an AP holder . . .

My DH, DD & DS will need UPH upon arrival but I was hoping to get the 1st and Last Day taken off since we will be arriving after 3pm on the 1st day and leaving by 11am on the Last Day.

Does the GF have these passes available? Do they put it on my hotel key card or is it the actual passes that I get.

Do they take off the 1st & Last Days?

Any help is appreciated!

The passes are put on your room key, yes they will drop first/last day if you ask when you check in but a park hooper pass might be a better buy (unless you're doing DQ and/or water parks a lot).

First problem, the entire party has to ahve UMP. Are you talking about Unlimited Magic passes (the old LOS Pass) or Park Hopper Passes. If you are talking Park Hoppers, they are mix and match. UMP everyone (including you) would have to get one.

If it's the UMP it's on the hotel key, that's the only option. PH's can be bought seperately, but I'm not sure if they can be sperate at the resorts. SOmetimes they will take off the first day if you are getting there late at night, or the last day if you're checking out really early in the am, but not both. Sounds like teh PH passes would be a better bet for you.

Thanks I was unaware that we all had to have UMP's I guess my best bet would be the PH's.

I need to get 6 Day PH's then . . .and they only come 6 Day Plusses.

Can I buy them through the DC or should I buy them at the resort. My Dis Store only sells up to 5 Day Park Hoppers.

Has anyone used FloridaOrlandoTickets.com?

Unless it's changed you can by UMP for part of your party (I did it a few years ago), what you can't do is have some of your party buy the plans that include meals.

I do not believe that everyone in the party has to buy the UPH tickets if those who do not purchase the UPH have an AP/PAP. Many on the DVC Board have posted that they have APs and are still able to buy UPH tickets for the rest of the party.

I'm not a fan of UPH tickets myself, but if they work best for your group, don't rule them out just because you have an AP.

Part of the party can have the UMP if you handle it at the hotel - if you buy a package that includes UMP - then the whole party needs the UMP.

I suppose you could try to get them to take off the first and last days at the GF. They might do it for you (I've heard of them taking one day off, but never more). I haven't had very good experiences with the front desk staff there (valet parking and the front desk --- two aspects of the GF that need fixed), so I'm not sure how "giving" they'll be on that. You might be better off with the 6 day park hopper plus passes, though. They will give you the Disney Club discount and encode the pass on the Resort ID's.

:)

I purchased my PAP and 3 UMPs for the rest of the family when I booked my room--paid for them with along with the deposit, too. In fact, I bought the 3 UMPs for our party of 4 and booked an AP rate with my PAP.

As to dropping 1st or last, the CRO won't do that, but I've frequently read reports of that happening at the resort. We always stay all day both days, so dropping days has never been an option. I thought you could opt out of one day or the other--seems as if it's more discretionary by the CM checking you in--as with CRO, if you don't like the answer, get another opinion. It's certainly been done in the past.

Thanks for all the help!

I contacted DC with my question and for some reason, they couldn't give me an answer . . .the CM asked where I would be staying and she switched me over to the GF . . .

The Guest Services CM at the GF told me that it would be no problem to get my UMP for my DH, DD and DS, I told him I had an AP and I didn't need a UMP and he said no problem.

He also reminded me to bring my DC card so I can get the DC rate.

Ok, one less thing to worry about:)
