I know Disney allows you to stock back up in the ports, are there any good places close to the pier we could get an OK selection at in Cozumel, Cartagena, and Puerto Vallarta? (we will need to restock for 14 days) I'm sure we can find my husband an IPA but I prefer Dark stouts or porters (or a cider) and I know those are mostly considered "specialty" so I'm nervous, and for wine we both just like very sweet white (he is starting to appreciate reds, but me not so much) so I'd like realistic expectations going in, as to not get my hopes up

Ah, that would be a good "sticky" type post, where to find wine/beer in the ports. I am curious about Vancouver and the Alaskan ports.

For Cartagena, I'll share a secret. You want to find the coffee wine. It's not distributed in the US. I seriously would book a round-trip flight to go down there to fetch a case. I'm not kidding. Just look for the coffee wine. You'll thank me.

The ship docks in an industrial, working port in Cartagena. Not a place to walk around. They may have shuttles running from the dock to a shopping area.

There is a Wal-Mart and a mall across the street from the dock in Puerto Vallarta.

We didn't buy any alcohol either place so can't be more specific.

In Cozumel there's a liquor & souvenir store on the right as soon as you get to the end of the pier. There's actually several stores that sell alcohol right there. Not sure about beer & wine since I was dying over the price of some of the liquors. I'm pretty sure they did.

In Cartagena I know when you walk to the little port area they have set up there is a duty-free that sells some liquors. I can't remember if we saw beer there or not. If there's none to be had right there in that little port area...not sure what your plans are for the day, see if you can get a stop or a taxi or even ask if there's something nearby over by the port gate area. I got the coffee wine in a row of little shops over by the old town area. There's bound to be somewhere not far to pick up beer. Not sure about additional wines. Our Vallarta day got cancelled due to unrest in the area. Sadly, we never saw it. If you stop in Cabo there's lots of little shops right there in the port area at the end of the dock where the tenders come in. You're sure to find something.

Can anyone share experiences of buying beer and wine in Cozumel, Costa Maya, and or GrandCayman? TIA :drinking:

I have the same question tigerchic.

There are some very good red wines coming out of Valle de Gaudalupe these days, and I'm really hoping to "re-stock" for the second half of the cruise after bringing some Napa wines for the first half.

Need to know how much I need to ration
