What happens if you go over the legal limit on buying Sudafed? Will they know at the counter if you purchased elsewhere, or will the men in black show up at your door? :confused3

My guess is that you'd receive a visit from your local drug task force.

I haven't bought Sudafed since it went behind the counter.

Interesting. Well, they're welcome to come. I'll just blow snot at them. :teeth:

I hate these limits! It used to be when I'd get a cold, I'd buy up the whole shelf of Sudafed, Mucinex, Advil cold, and whatever else I could get my hands on. Now I have to pick and choose.

Well....they can ban you from the store, throw you out or call the police.

My sister was a grocery manager and had to do all of that...ALOT.:scared1:

Yes people would try and buy over the limit....IN THE SAME STORE.:lmao:

Well Im assuming you all know why they limit the sale of them, I know that originally it as just to the under 18 crowd did not realise it was to adults as well. Its a sad state of affairs and we are going to have alot of 20 something year old brain damaged young people walking around in a few years.

:scared1: I feel your pain! My whole family had a sinus thing going on last fall and I couldn't buy Sudafed and something for my kids. The PE stuff just doesn't work. There have been studies to show that. It's so frustrating to be at Target's pharmacy counter, miserable, with two equally miserable kids, and the guy at the counter says, "Sorry. I can't sell you more than one item containing pseudophedrine." Yes, clearly we are running a meth lab and all I need is two more boxes. . . :sad2:

Don't blame the person behind the counter.... they did not make the laws.

In our state you can have your Dr. write a prescription for a bottle of 100 generic Sudafed for situations where a whole family is using it. You might check into the laws in your state and see if that option is available.

:)

I guess you need to buy Sudafed on weeks even when you aren't sick so that you have stockpile.

You can only buy so much in a month.... anyone who is buying a large quantity will probably be watched and stores in the area will communicate. It's not that big of a deal, really. If you just plan ahead a bit and maybe talk to your Dr. you can get what you need. :)

I certainly was not blaming the person behind the counter. I was merely expressing frustration with the current state of things. It's a frivolous law that protects no one. It just makes taking care of allergies even more of a pain in the rear.

I completely agree!

The only time I ever got frustrated with someone behind the counter was when I wanted to purchase this double-packaged Sudafed and he said I couldn't because of the limits. Okay, then WHY on earth is it for sale in the store then? :confused3 He just gave me a "too bad, so sad" attitude, so I made him get the pharmacist. The pharmacist had no problem selling it to me.

They only sold you one box at Target? I often get 2 boxes of Aleve Cold & Sinus at a time from the pharmacy, since there are only 10 caplets in a box. It is the ONLY thing that helps my migraines. I asked the pharmacist how much I could buy & he laughed & said not to worry, I wasn't near my monthly quota. But he never actually told me what that quota was!

I buy the OTC's that went behind the counter on drugstore.com now. No way will I go to the counter to ask for them. I bought 3-4 last time and they all came.

It's a pain in the rear that has virutally rid our area of active meth labs. I guess it is protecting someone.

Heck, I bought a bottle of OTC children's Tylenol Cold containing NO SUDAFED and was carded for my purchase!!! When the cashier asked to see my license I looked at her funny (not out of anger, more of a "what?") and she said, "yeah, we have to card for all cold medicine now." I mean COME ON!!!!!!!

Speaking of Children's Tylenol Cold - did they pull this completely off the market? I used to use that (in a pink cherry tablet/pill form) for my kids, it worked wonders & covered all the bases plus cough. Can't find it on the shelf or behind the pharmacy.

I don't know. This one is in liquid form. :confused3
