Buying limits on Sudafed

They only sold you one box at Target? I often get 2 boxes of Aleve Cold & Sinus at a time from the pharmacy, since there are only 10 caplets in a box. It is the ONLY thing that helps my migraines. I asked the pharmacist how much I could buy & he laughed & said not to worry, I wasn't near my monthly quota. But he never actually told me what that quota was!

you are limited to a certain amount of grams (I think 9, but am not 100% on that) of pseudophedrine per month. So you can buy as many boxes as it takes to get to that amount.

I don't know. This one is in liquid form. :confused3

I did see the liquid form on the shelf in the store - but I didn't think that had the cough suppressant in it - or does it? My kids won't take a liquid anyway...:confused3

I hear ya on the migraines! I developed one at school last weekend, and went to Eckerd (Rite Aid now!) to buy some beloved Aleve Cold & Sinus, and they were out! I actually started to CRY! I live in a very small town, and there's just Eckerd and a grocery store (which doesn't carry this particular medicine). I had to drive half-blind (because of the migraine) to the next town. I bought TWO boxes and kept my fingers crossed that I wouldn't be arrested for dealing meth.

WOW someone else that takes Aleve Cold & Sinus for migraines :grouphug: !! My family doctor wanted me to take Imitrex but I don't do well with many rxs, I am the one that always suffers those "rare" side effects - so I told him that taking 1 Aleve Cold & Sinus plus 1 Extra Strength Tylenol together, then another Extra Strength Tylenol about 30 min. later, worked for me. Of course I got the "you'll kill your stomach, your liver, etc. etc) by mixing those 2 drugs but tell that to my head when it feels like it is about to explode off my body & I can't get off the bed to take care of my family! He then said it was fine, if that's my "cocktail" for a migraine to do it, as long as I wasn't doing it regularly. I also love the Aleve C&S for sinus headaches, they're gone in about 15 minutes.

What happens if you go over the legal limit on buying Sudafed? Will they know at the counter if you purchased elsewhere, or will the men in black show up at your door? :confused3

In my experience (it was a horrible spring for allergies for me), they'll know as soon as they enter your information into the system whether or not you're allowed to make that purchase. If it'll put you over the limit, they won't sell to you, at least as far as Walgreens is concerned. I'd guess the system's comparable everywhere.

I know! I thought I was the only one!!!

I take the Aleve C&S with a Coke (or a Diet Coke) for the caffeine. Then about 2 hours later, take a plain Aleve. I've been suffering from migraines for about 25 years, so I've got it down to a science!

Isn't that funny how we both have our "Migraine Cocktails." Well as you know, we'd do anything to make the pain stop! Maybe we're on to something here & could come out with an Aleve Migraine med. Hmmmm....

Well, if Excedrin would just add pseudophedrine to one of their formulas ("Excedrin Sinus"), I'd be all set!

I'm glad that mix works for you, but I can't handle caffeine if I need to rest, it wires me. So there's obviously something in the pseudophedrine that is working for us.

I think we've hijacked this thread! Whoops!
