Buying DVC while on DCL??

Hi, I just read a thread on the main DVC site, which (assuming I read it correctly!!) said that if you buy into DVC while you are on the cruise ship, you get great incentives including free cruises!!

Is this correct?? And if so, is it open to UK residents??

Finally, we aren't cruising until Christmas 2010 - do you think BLT will still be available to buy at that time, and do the cruises offer these type of incentives all the time or is it likely to be a very limited offer??

Anybody buying in (or adding points) at the moment can get a free cruise - provided they buy at least the minimum requirement.

We bought our DVC on DCL and we received a discount per point (which was a common offer at the time), and decent OBC to be spent during the cruise we were on at the time. About 3 weeks after we got home, we received a lovely model of the ship, too.

Offers change every so often though, so it's hard to tell what will be offered when you cruise in 2010.

When we last cruised (Sept 08) the incentives were extraordinary and much better then waiting until returning home. Like most DVD sales programs they are geared to overall sales conditions.

Oh yes, Nat!!! I'm hoping that after our 3 nights at BLT, DH will feel a little add-on is in order when we cruise in September...

I'm not so sure. The other resorts we have points at have Villa in the title - VILLAs at Wilderness Lodge; Animal Kingdom VILLAs... I might have been in with a chance if they'd called them VILLAs at the Contemporary... Maybe if they're painted claret and blue...?

There is agroup presentation on the ship, just about an hour if not less. You can then meet with a guide one on one to personalize. Generally there are better incentives the more points you buy and generally the best ones are if you are referred by a member.
