Buying DVC from owner?

Hi...

This may be a dumb question, but is it possible to purchase a DVC ownership directly from an owner, or does it need to be done thru DISNEY or a reseller? Thanks!

You can buy from anyone. There is no need for a broker to be involved. Disney does end up involved however but you don't have to buy through them. No matter who you buy from, they still have the ROFR from Disney. To buy from an owner you would still need some type of closing service. I'm sure someone will mention one.

We've been thinking about joining off and on, and have found out that a friend of ours is consdering selling theirs - don't know which resort though, or how many points.

We are going in April and will take the tour just to see!

We bought our resale directly from the owner and didn't have any problems at all. We used an Orlando branch of First American Title to handle the escrow.
