Yes. We used a cash back card. Took four percent off.You can buy a direct sale on a credit card, but not a resale.

I don't know what people get over the phone, but we got a tote bag, a $50 gift card and for buying the day we toured (we had already planned to do so- not an impulse buy) we got 2015's points as a bonus. We also got water, snacks, fast passes, a ride to our ADR- that sort of little thing. And DD got to play at Lilo's while we toured, which she loved.
None of that (except the points) is enough to make the decision if there's value for you in buying over the phone, but there were some nice little touches, plus we preferred meeting our guide in person.
Technically, they aren't bonus points. It's just a sales tactic. As long as you purchase in a month that comes before the month of your Use Year, they have to give you the points from the year before (because, you're still in that UY).I don't know what people get over the phone, but we got a tote bag, a $50 gift card and for buying the day we toured (we had already planned to do so- not an impulse buy) we got 2015's points as a bonus. Dvcnews has the current pricing. Dvcnews.comWe just bought resale and have booked our first trip for next April/May at BWV. Already we're talking about adding on a small direct contract (25-50 points). Are all resorts around $160/pp currently?

Thanks, so if I bought another 25 points at BWV today, it would be $4K + closing costs.

For example, you purchase in March, 2016, with a June UY. They have to give you 2015 points too. However, if you purchase in August 2016, with a June UY, you don't get those "bonus" points.
I agree. Mine told me the same thing. Probably why he's lasted as a DVC sales member for 25 years. One thing I absolutely love about my guide is that when he was explaining the extra points, I said "Oh wow, so we're getting double for free" and he said "Well, no - you're actually owed those points anyway, but it's a nice perk to just get the extra ones, even though you're entitled to them anyway."

I did a 25 point add-on over the phone -- and we got the tote bag. It's actually kinda nice.
To bad it doesn't come with 4 or 5 gold AP'sIt's a very nice tote bag. I joke that it's the most expensive bag I've ever bought.![]()

That's usually what I say about my "free" drink at the craps tables. "This is the best $200 Crown & Coke ever!"
We just got back from our trip, and toured at BWV to see the models. We recieved a $50 gift card, a cheapie reusable grocery type bag, and 3 fast passes for our family for touring. We are planning on buying, but we are saving for the cash. We were told that if we purchased within 10 days of the tour we would receive 2016 points as well as our regular use points. It's a shame we will miss out on that but we won't be financing, especially not at the rates they offered!!
