Buying Direct - Resort Options

Right now, are the only resorts you can buy direct (new contract) from Riviera, Grand Floridian, and Aulani?

When I go to the official DVC, those are the only ones I see listed. Are all others completely sold out??

You can buy any resort (possible exception is VGC as there's a waitlist for that resort), they just actively advertise RIV, VGF, and AUL since those aren't sold out yet.

If you’re an owner you should see all of them in the add on tool. They don’t advertise them on their website unless they’re in active sales, you have to call to initiate any others as a non-owner. But they are buried on the site if you click through destinations and then all other resorts. As noted above, VGC is not currently available and there’s a wait list that last I heard was closed to new names. BCV had sometimes also sold out although I think it’s been continuously available for a few years now.

I just purchased Polynesian points last month. Almost all resorts where available just not on sale. Contact your dvc guide.

Wow...I don't think I realized how different direct prices vs. current resale were for some of these. It's also a bummer than new members can't get less than 150 pts. If we decide to buy for WDW some day, we'd only want 75 points, at most since we wouldn't go as often as we go to DLR.

Once your VGC resale membership gets established, you'll be able to buy direct contracts smaller than 150 at any resort. Minus VGC of course.

On a different thread recently, I think I was told that we could only do that if we wanted the same use year. (But I might be wrong because my memory is honestly horrible!) If/when the time comes for WDW DVC, we'd probably want December UY. Our VGC is June.

Oh right. You would not be able to add on with a different UY.

If it is a different UY, then it is no longer an add on contract. It is a new membership, and all new memberships must be 150 point minimum contracts...but, if you already own, you would at least be eligible for current owner incentives...if there are any.

When I added on last year at VGF, I got the 300 point incentive, even though I did 150 Dec UY points (which I already had as a UY) and 150 June UY (which was a new UY for me).
