Buying Direct in January

We were happy to hear that we did not have to pay for the 2025 dues and whatever we don’t use we can bank by May to combine them in Oct when we we get the the next ones.
Everyone is booking their December 2026 (your 2026 UY) home resorts now!! (Remember the points are not a “when we get”. You already have them. Automatically accessible when in the booking period).

Welcome Home!

As far as the trip you’re hoping to use some points on next month, it is possible to ask your guide to help. For first time totally new to the system members - sometimes they can pull strings. Can’t hurt to ask! It’s a special 1 time only perk called a Welcome Home Trip. They may be able to access inventory that’s not open in our member system.

Yes. Our guide gave us a number to call tomorrow for help booking our "Welcome Home Reservation" since it would be our first time using our DVC points. Also, since we want to book for 5-6 days a month away they may not have any cabins available for us. Hopefully they can find us one that we can book.

Update: We just got a hold of our DVC Guide and we just purchased our first DVC contract at the Cabins and Fort Wilderness. We were happy to hear about the incentives. We purchased 150 pts, got an Oct. UY, got $20 per point in savings ($3,000), plus an additional $1,500 holiday savings. We were offered the opportunity to save an additional $3,000 by selling our 2025 points back at $20 per point Magical Beginnings but since we are planning on using some of our points next month, we opted out of that offer. Overall, we are excited and look forward to the years to come with DVC.
Congratz! The "issue" with those extra points is that you get used to having them...and you end up buying more...lol

I’ve never been able to manage finding gift cards for more than 5% off (Target).
Giftcards dot com had them 10% off the last two black Fridays. This last time there was no limit, and it could stack with a rackuten cash back and cash back offers from Chase and PayPal. So I got about $6K worth for about 15% off. There was a Target deal back in October where a $100 giftcard purchase gave you a $10 Target bonus giftcard. With the Redcard, that worked out to close to 15% off as well (limit 10). Last month GooglePlay had a deal for 15% off a $100 giftcard (limit 2).

My strategy now is to get about 2 years worth whenever I can get 15% or more off.
