Anyone know the best place to buy bulk candy? Thinking of using containers filled with candy as our centerpieces (similar to the candy buffet but one container of candy on each table).... best place to get it? I've found a few online places, and you can shop for "candy by color" (my colors are shades of purple)... found one place that seemed to have great prices but then the shipping was going to be quite high... so any suggestions?? :confused3

I actually was a little obsessed with getting the best deal for the candy we picked and made a spreadsheet...

I compared: Wegmans (loose candy) Bulk Foods 1 lb; Bulk Foods-larger size; Candy Warehouse; a candy store.com and Candy Direct.com

Honestly, the best way is to put them all out there with the shipping costs and see where the best bargin is.

For us, several things were the cheapest through Wegmans loose candy section. (Lindt truffles, mints, blue and white tootsie rolls)

We also used bulk foods and I think candy direct.

Here are some pics from our engagement party!
Best of luck- pm me if you'd like the spreadsheet?

Sorry, totally random and not quite related (but I'm not surprised) WEGMAN'S!!! As an upstate NY girl, I heart and deeply miss Wegman's! It is the BEST!! Yea Gibsi53! Love your "winter" candy bar and that you utilized Weggie's! Awesome and beautiful! :goodvibes

Hi! I thought I read somewhere on a thread posted previously that Disney doesn't allow you to bring in candy?? Or maybe it is that if you do, it has to be individually wrapped?? Can someone clarify this? THANKS!! :goodvibes

uhm can i just say that photo has made me want to do this for my wedding :rotfl2: im in love! i had someone tell me of this idea before....and i pictured it..but now seeing it....its amazing!!!!

I have considered this....

or maybe a mini candy buffet for the children...

But my problem is, where exactly do you find cheap containers ($1 or less - and I'm not a yard saler)? I found that sams club has the scoops for a fair price.

I remember that thread. If you bring your own candy, I believe it does have to be individually wrapped due to health codes and what not. If you order through Disney though, I think you can have loose candy. But of course, that is a bit pricier.

Edit: Here is the thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2080944&highlight=candy+buffet

awesome site! great selection and seems like good prices (although i don't have a whole heckuva lot to compare to) but the shipping seemed kinda high... but then again, that's cuz it wouldn't let me do anything other than at least like 2-day shipping (cuz it's triple digits here right now).... i won't be ordering until probably september or so, so maybe that will change and i'll be able to do cheaper shipping....

thanks!!
