Has anyone here ever bought an AP through the military. (Not at SOG, but pre-vacation at local base/post.) My DH called Tinker AFB the other day, and to pre-purchase an AP through them is $6 more than SOG, which is no big deal... we were looking into this option so we could have plenty of time to buy/receive our DDE card before the trip.

I've seen some posts here on the DIS about AP vouchers...???... Not sure what these are, but heard they have to be activated once you get there. Is this what they will be sending us? If so, will we be able to buy the DDE card without activating the AP? And finally, (thanks for bearing with me here!) do the AP's expire 1 yr from 1st day of use, or 1 yr from the day you purchased them?

We have bought many Park Hoppers from our local ITR office which sells them here..but never an AP, so I cannot answer that. Best bet is call them and get them to explain the policy exactly step by step to you from that local base office before you purchase.

To us it is easier to buy ahead of time than run over to SOG and buy them once we are there....have a great trip... :sunny:

I'm in the process of purchasing APs through out ITT office. The prices I was given are $412 for ages 10+ and $362 ages 3-9. These are vouchers and was told they would take 2-3 weeks for delivery. You activate your voucher at guest services and it would expire 1 year from date of activation.

I have been told that you can purchase the DDE card with just the voucher number. When you order your DDE card, tell the CM you have a voucher.

Just wanted to jump on here with a question - we usually buy our AP's at SOG, too, but are also looking to get our DDE before we leave home.

Hubby is in the National Guard - so, there isn't really a large unit anywhere near here - does anyone know if there may be someone I could contact at our State Headquarters that could order an AP for us? Since hubby isn't active duty, I'm really not sure where I would start - or what type of contact I'm looking for...any suggestions? TIA! :teeth:

I'm at a base in FL, so we actually have the vouchers at our ticket office.

And yes, they are vouchers, not the actual passes. When you first get to WDW, you can go to any guest services window and exchange them for real APs. I've heard you can do this in the Disney Store at the airport, but don't know that for sure.

And they expire 1 year from when they get turned into real passes, not one year from the purchase.

As far as buying them other than in person, I don't think that's possible. However, there may be a military rec office in your area. Try doing a search for Morale Welfare Recreation and the name of your local city, and see if something comes up. If you have a DoD dependent card, you should be able to get onto a local base for the purpose of visiting their ticket office.

I know that before I moved to FL, I wanted to get military priced one day passes. The non-FL ticket offices didn't have them, and I didn't want to take the time to stop at SOG on our way in. A friend of mine bought them from his ticket office, and I just paid him (and got his girls a gift to say thanks!). So if you have a friend with access to a military facility, they might be able to do this for you. The voucher doesn't get "personalized" until you turn it into a pass.

Hope this helps!
