First of all, let me say that I seriously doubt that this would make it through ROFR, but someone has a 300-point contract posted on Ebay with a Buy it Now price of $22,500. That comes to $75 a point.

The bidding is currently at $16,600 with a reserve not met. I'm sure the reserve is very near the Buy it Now price.

Just passing this on. Here's the link:

You never know b/c if it is stripped and 300 points? Plus, I remember reading several times that Disney is less likely to buy back eBay sale points, not sure if that's true...

Not sure about the eBay part, since Disney wouldn't necessarily be made aware of that as part of the contract ... but the contract is pretty much stripped ... 12 points in 2007 and 300 available in March 2008. The listing makes it clear that you can borrow from the 300 pool in March 2007 though. It might just make it through ROFR. Of course, if the 'Reserve Price' isn't met, it's all moot -- and most of the DVC auctions I've seen end in that state.

I don't think it will make it thru, doesn'ts matter to Disney if the points are stripped.

In general, how are stripped contracts priced - at what discount do they sell in the resale market? Quick thought says those stripped points were worth at least $10/point, so $75 stripped equates to $85 unstripped, which seems to be a very ordinary price for BWV.

Am I missing anything?

Auction ended at $19,900 with the reserve not met.

Kinda figured it would end like that ... I wonder what the reserve was? Prolly $50 less or something.

Well, $75/point is for the life of the contract whereas the $10/point is for a rental, 1 year ... prolly doesn't work that way ... I dunno though? :confused3
