"But Mom, I want to come back to WDW!"

If you can drag it out a little, I'll finish two in the time it took you to finish ONE :lmao:

:snooty: Hmph...I will try to do that just for you - MISTER

If I'm lucky, I'll finish just when were ready to head off on our next trip. It's not looking too promising for us - unless I can find myself some work :scared:

I need more or my life will go off kilter just reading Buzzila’s report :confused3

Day 5 – Part 2

Sorry for the delay on my next installment. Now where was I?

Oh yes, the lizard. When we arrived at our room, I realized that I worried for nothing while we left the girls in the room on their own. We found them lying on the beds watching Pirates of the Caribbean even though they had seen it a million times already. But who doesn’t love to watch Johnny over and over? Er…..I mean POTC.

Prince Grumpy: Guess what I have in my bag?

Goofy: Chocolate?

Me: Nooooooo (shaking my head – if there ever was a chocolate monster, this is my child. She doesn’t digest it well though…I’ll just say that it keeps her running – enough said)

JoJo: A new pin for our collection?

Prince Grumpy: No, I’ll give you a hint. It has 4 legs and a tail.

JoJo: A LIZARD?????

(Prince Grumpy nods his head)

Goofy: Let’s see it!!! :yay:

Me: WAIT – WAIT A MINUTE. Let’s remove it from the bag outside, I don’t want that thing crawling around in the room – you might lose and then it will be stuck in here somewhere.

Goofy: No Mom, come on, we won’t.

Prince Grumpy: It’ll be fine.

Me: What if you can’t catch it again? I’ll never be able to go to sleep knowing it’s wandering around in here.

JoJo: Mom, it won’t hurt you.

Me: I know but…..OKAY…You can go in the bathroom with it.

(Prince Grumpy rolls his eyes at the girls, snickers and proceeds to the bathroom with his DD’s following quickly behind him)

Goofy: It’s so SMALL and cute! Can we keep it? Can we bring it home with us?

Me: Absolutely NOT. It won’t survive our climate.

JoJo: I can keep it in my aquarium. Pleeeassseeeeeee mom?

Me: No, we’re not allowed to bring it through customs.

Prince Grumpy: How would they know?

(Hey…isn’t he supposed to be on my side?)

Prince Grumpy: I don’t remember reading anything about not bringing back lizards.

Me: Hmph!

(Sometimes I believe DH thinks he has a photographic memory but I know he just doesn’t have the film) :rotfl2:

Me: The answer is NO.

For some reason, this episode reminded me of Jim Morrison – I am the lizard king. I can do anything.

Anyhow, the girls played with their new friend while we transferred pictures and got ready to go for lunch. I called out to them and asked what they were doing. “Nothing” is what they said. Now we all know when kids say they are doing nothing – they are doing mischief.

After they set the lizard free, we went to the food court and shared two CS meals. None of us were that hungry and there was plenty go around. We saved our dessert coupons for later.

After lunch, we thought it would be fun to go to the arcade with the girls. I left the rest of my money back in the room and borrowed $20.00 from JoJo. That sure is the best way to teach kids the value of money. JoJo said “I don’t like lending my money to other people in case I never see it again. I said to her “Then it probably would be worth it”. At first we wandered around the arcade, watching them and then decided to play a game of air hockey, which by the way, I lost – big time. :sad2:

I didn’t feel like playing the arcade games but enjoyed watching DH and the girls, taking a few pictures here and there. Watching DH play the games reminded me of when we first met and hung out at our local arcade. I was crazy over him and remember giving him a quarter because he had run out of money. I didn’t want his game to end so that I could spend more time getting to know him. Where there’s a will…(I want to be in it)….there’s a way and the rest is history.

I talked DH into having our picture taken in the photobooth:

Not the same day but I added this here:

I asked my DD’s if they were interested in taking a walking tour of our resort. We wanted to get a few pictures and had time to kill before our Hoop-Dee-Doo dinner. The girls allowed us to take a few pictures of them and became bored with us pretty fast. They decided to go back to the arcade and left us to wander around on our own. :rolleyes1

While DH was taking a few pictures, I wandered off the path and found myself walking through an area with long grass. All of a sudden I became creeped out because I recalled an incident involving DH, while visiting my brother in Sarasota. He and his wife told us to stay on the sidewalks because of the fire ants. Prince Grumpy stepped off the sidewalk because, he either didn’t believe my brother or just because boys will be boys. In no more than 20 seconds the ants covered his calves and he freaked. :scared1: I never laughed so hard. I’m laughing at him now just remembering.

After our tour, I headed into the store to browse around. I bought a Disney photo album on sale for $7.99. It was half price. DH is always pleased when I manage to save us money. I wish I could win the lottery so I could prove to him that it wouldn’t SPOIL me. :teeth:

We found the girls and went for chocolate shakes using two of our coupons before heading back to our room to get ready for our trip over to Fort Wilderness.

Coming up: Day 5 – Part 3 – Hoop-Dee-Doo

Your arcade story reminded me of how I met Lin.

She was schleppin' beers & sometimes the "shoe check girl" at the local bowling alley when I came sauntering in. I wine and dined her on some hot dogs and Rolling Rock and she was all mine.

Ahhh the good old days!

Oh I love those photobooth pictures! They are awesome. I have never come across an honest-to-goodness photobooth at disney (just the ones that make postcards or those tiny stickers), I'll have to keep an eye out next time!

I LOVE the pictures of your girls in the photo booth!! Even though they're so goofy you can just tell they're having so much fun--how cute!! That lizard would have totally creeped me out. There is no way in heck I would have let that thing in my hotel room. You're a brave woman, blue! Can't wait to read about Hoop Dee Doo, we've never been to that.

:rotfl: That Buzz kills me! What a nerd. I never worked at a bowling alley and he never wined and dined me-that's for sure!! When we met, he was schleppin' greasy ribs in a fast food place and he was the one drinking the beer! I always have to be the voice of reason and truth!! :rolleyes1

I love your pictures! That lizard is sooo tiny. I wouldn't have wanted a lizard running around in our room either! The photo booth pictures cracked me up-your girls are too funny! You and your DH make such a nice looking couple! I loved all the statues at your hotel. I think one of my favorite characters that doesn't get a lot of attention is Daisy Duck-she has more of an edge than some of the female ones. Anyway, it looks like you had such a good time on your trip! Makes me want to go back already!

A new installment. I love it. Your girls remind me so much of my sister and I at their age. Seeing them in the pictures brings back so many memories. Yeah sisters fight and all, but when yours get to adulthood, they will be the best of friends.

I am so enjoying your trip report, you have a great sense of humor, keep up the good work.

looking good mom.
and btw I believe I will be trying to bring home a lizzard in my shirt,or some other sneeky way. and i know dad will try and help me out with this.
That lizzard was cute next to the snail you guys brought in for us. i think i was more affriad of the snail though because it was so big.
can't wait for the rest i'd say the next day was my favorite. :P
:thumbsup2

Your last installment proves that good things are worth waiting for…

Enjoyed it all, my girls and I had a blast in the arcade a few trips back, normally I wouldn’t have acted that way, but it was for my girls you know….

Well I'm ignoring this post because Linnie reports that it is all lies!!!! I'm going to go with her comment that you are a NERD ;)

I love it too, especially the one of Goofy giving JoJo a kiss. It's something I rarely see :)

I don't know if I am a brave woman or just crazy for putting up with them all

The lizard was tiny, we all seemed to have trouble catching the bigger ones.

Thanks for the nice looking couple comment :flower3:

I want to go back already too!!

I am pleased that I brought back so many memories for you :grouphug:

and I hope you're right about them being the best of friends when they're adults. I find it hard to believe but people keep telling me it will happen. *sigh*

Oh, please don't start on the "trying to bring home a lizard" thing. It isn't going to happen! I'd threaten to cancel our trip but then I'd only be hurting myself :rotfl2:

You know JoJo, you could chime in at any time and write about our trip from your point of view. :upsidedow

Your last installment proves that good things are worth waiting for…

Well thank you :)

I worked hard on that one :rotfl:

Seriously, I kept putting it off because how does someone write about hanging around the resort?

Hey, I've seen you somewhere before! I can tell you this: I'll definately have the next installment up before another certain TR writer we know :rolleyes1

It's a little blurry, but look closely at the light post

It looks like the little guy with the binoculars is watching him ( I planned that)

The girls haven't had a chance to see this yet but I wanted to comment.

That is CUTE with the guy watching him! You are so creative with your pictures Goofster :artist:

I am sharing a picture we took over the weekend. It's a sure sign of spring here :yay:
