Please forgive me. When it comes to politics...well I am not into it. I tend to turn the channel when there's news conference on politics. So now, I don't know what's Bush's plan for this country or Kerry's. I know it's my fault. Nov will be here before we know it and I just want to know who I am voting for. Is there any links to them as to why we should vote for one or the other? Or can anyone tell me what their beliefs and agenda for this country? Please make it simple for me to understand. I don't understand political jargon talk. Thank you so much in advance.

kerry lays out his plans on his website www.johnkerry.com -- I'm sure Bush has his agenda described on his website as well. I suggest you read both.

The best thing is to just take the time to learn about each candidate. Go their websites and read about what they plan to do. Get information from as many different places as possible, although I would personally avoid the sources that are on the extreme of either party. Think about what issues are most important to you, where you stand on those issues, and where each candidate stands on those issues.

Good luck!

Thank you Jenny for the link. and thanks AFR. Is there a link to Bush? TIA!

Good for you for showing an interest! I wish more people would! Decisions are made by those who show up!

Once it gets a little closer to the election, you should also do a little research into canadates for local races in your area. The laws and policies that most effect us are actually made on the local and state level, not federal! You can find most info on local races in your local paper, and local t.v. news.

I agree with the other posters about researching the candidates as best you can. Try to get past all the hype and on to the facts.

If it's too overwhelming, choose a couple of issues that are really important to you, whether they be defense or farm subsidies or health care, or whatever, and read up on each candidate's positions on them. Stop by a library every week and look at Time or Newsweek...read the long articles about the candidates and the issues...30 second sound bites on the TV news or commericials don't do it. Watch both of the political conventions...if you find yourself agreeing with the speeches at one convention but not the other, you have yourself a candidate!

Good for you Fantasia. Good luck with your reading. And no matter which candidate you select, congrats for getting involved and voting.
