Bush Daughters

Personally I think all of the candidates' older children (mainly the Bush and Kerry clans) may have something positivie to add to each of their fathers' campaigns. It doesn't surprise me that the Bush girls are joinig in this campaign more...after all, they have just graduated from college, and are taking their first forays into the adult world. Their father's Presidential campaign is probably a good place to start.

The Kerry girls also seem to be intelligent women who will have something to offer. I don't think the looks of any of them matter. If a voter decides on a candidate based on looks, well...that shows the ignorance of the voter I guess.

I woudl assume that the poster who made the comment about the Bush girls joining the military would have the same expectation of the Kerry girls.

The Edwards' children are too young to be much else than cute. And they are. So let's leave then be.

It's amazing to me that a thread like this that starts out happy and sweet ends up bitter and nasty. I can't believe it's come to this...picking on the candidates' kids and wives.

It makes me sick and it's so sad how much hate there is going around.:(

Even though I didn't like Clinton, I didn't hate him and I would never insult or disrespect him the way others do to President Bush. Even though I didn't like Clinton, I never insulted or picked on his DD, Chelsea.

Even though I do not like Kerry for SO many reasons (even more than Clinton; I'm from MA and I know Kerry quite well) I would never pick on his kids. His wife, I wouldn't pick on her, but I do NOT like her AT ALL.

It's just so sad. Just like that NY celebrity fundraiser that they can't even quote or show because it was so vile, disgusting and full of hate and disrespect, yet Kerry said "every single performer" had "conveyed to you the heart and soul of our country." I don't think so. :(

yes Kerry voted for the war based on the lies this President told. He has no say in the horrid way it is being run. I see no reason why his children should be obligated to sacrifice.

:rotfl:

Since you brought it up.......

You know, when I first heard of this I was very upset. And then a day later on the news they showed clips of what the late night talk show hosts were saying about the candidates. Frankly, it was just as insulting and rude, minus the foul language. And since the VP has made it quite clear that not only is bad language acceptable, it feels good and you should be glad you used it, I stopped feeling quite so bad.

Just going by example, right....:D

Speaking of Cheney....That's one politician who we can just about guarantee won't be putting his daugther out on the stump....

As a guy who likes to talk politics, I find it rather disheartening that one cannot make a simple quip about Bush's daughters without it turning into a partisan issue. Not everything is about partisan politics.

What does late night talk show hosts insulting all Presidential candidates (as they have done for years) have to do with Kerry and Edwards condoning and being present with these people who were saying what they were saying? I don't think it's the same or a good comparision, IMHO.

fyi...what Whoopi said and did was so bad, Slim Fast just dropped her! I just read it on Yahoo.

Oh and the VP is not the first nor the last person to use foul language. Many others have been heard doing just the same.

Come on TC, you can do much better than that. I don't see any resemblance at all but the Lerch and Kerry pic. Definitely separated at birth.

No, way! Get out!

All the proof is there. Especially in the lip positions! :teeth:

My point was that it is NEVER ok....and for the VP to do it where he did it...and then to smugly brag about it...and even worse, have his little troupe of Sunday talk show rationalizers go out and say Leahey was a very mean man and deserved it.........Be fair now...either it is alright to say it or it is not. You simply cannot defend one and chastise the other.....particularly when one actually said it and the others were in attendance when others said it.

Franlky it beats me why anyone would run for office when no one has the luxury of saying " I was wrong" lest they go down in those polls that no one cares about.

Surely both sides give each other more credit than to think we'd vote on what the candidate or their wife or children look like. Give me a break.

Geeze....This is going to be a nasty election when people resort to degrading the candidates children.

::yes:: No kidding, it's pretty pathetic.

They are not only attractive but they are independent, well educated women.

Which makes them excellent candidates for officer's training. It's always nice to see support for the military from folks who are willing to send other people's kids off to die.
There is certainly nothing to be ashamed of in serving one's country.

Do people really think that Bush (or Kerry for that matter) should dictate whether his children choose to serve in the military? Military service is currently voluntary.

I'm sort of amazed that people think that a parent should be able to dictate their child's choices. I suppose Bush should have forced his daughters to go to college in DC and live in the White House so that people could think they are a close family? Then when the decisions were made about Iraq he could have marched them down to the recruiter and signed them up. I'm very surprised that people think ANY parent should be making those kinds of decisions for college aged kids.

Edward's girls look like crack *****s......but his son is gonna be a heartbreaker someday.:rolleyes1

C'mon you know better than that. Kerry was privy to the same intelligence as GW. That is a cop out.

As for the children, so then, you are not voting for Kerry because his kids don't serve, correct?

GW's kids we KIDS when he ran before. Now they are ADULTS and can make their own decisions. Totally different situation...but I'm sure you won't see it that way......
