Buses after late in-park dinner?

We're going to be at Animal Kingdom on a day with an 8 pm close. Some of the restaurants offer reservation times at or a little after closing. If we make an 8:30 reservation and finish at 10, will there still be resort buses? If there are, do we just go to the bus area and wait? Is there any way to contact transportation if we need to confirm that we haven't missed the last bus that night (assuming there's no one left at the AK entrance to ask)? Or do we just need to plan on paying for private transportation? Thanks!

Transportation knows there are guests in the restaurants after park closing. You will not be left stranded. You may be on a bus going to multiple resorts.

Nice thing is, Disney never leaves a guest stranded at a park. They will get you back to your resort. No matter how long you take to get out
And yes, you go to the bus area and wait. If they aren't using all stops at that hour there will be someone there to tell you what stop to use. Otherwise, go to your usual one.

Correct as stated above. As long as there are guests in the park, there are always buses ready to drop you off. The later it goes, the bus routes will be modified. As you get closer to the bus depot, there are usually Bus Transport CM's there with vests on. You can always ask them which load zone, if they don't already ask you before you can ask them. The nice park is that late, it is a drop guests off at the closest stops, so if staying at the last stop in CBR, and you are the only ones on the bus staying there....you get to go straight to your stop without going around! When in doubt, ask the Transport CM's. Hopefully they wont steer you wrong.

We came out of HS studios very late one night (dinner & my Mom shopping) and it was pretty deserted in the transportation area. I spotted a CM member with a headset on and a clipboard (pre-ipads) and asked her about transportation back to the YC. She called a bus and in 5 minutes we were on our way back to the resort. For all the complaints about Disney's bus service we see on these boards, they do take care of guests in this regard.
