When I worked in bus ops, I knew of at least 2 drivers that were in similar situations, and both lost there jobs. 1 had his arm broken by an outside charter bus driver. Even though both drivers defended themselves, from unprovoked attacks, they were terminated under the no fight rule.

If that is true, why would anyone want to work for them. :sad2: I am sending an email right now.

This man was dead wrong in what he has done. I hope that the driver is not too shaken up by what has happened to him. I would like to make one comment.. this man who attacked the driver stated that he had a baby and that made him a priority.. isn't this reminding some about the thread where Disney is for "children" and how they have the right to worm their way in front of an adult (an adult who has waited an hour for their prime seat) to watch the parade :confused3 All here seem to be in agreement, that having a baby doesn't make your family a priority for the bus.. but yet, some on that other thread seemed to think that having a child makes your family priority over a family who doesn't when it comes to the actual theme park.. I see some double standards here.. When waiting in line, be it for a bus, a ride or even a parade.. it is first come first served.. not I have an infant so I get on first.. or I have a child so they can go in front of you to see the parade.. I wonder if this man who attacked the driver is a poster here .. and posted on that thread in agreement on how Disney really is about children....

I hope this driver turns the tables on this unruly guest and pursue's formal charges against his attacker. If there are really security camera's that have captured this attack, I know this driver will come out clean... and the attacker will get just what he deserves...:goodvibes

Excellent post, :thumbsup2 I was thinking same thing, we just discussed kids priorities recently and this case is kind of echo. I also hope driver will come clean, good for him protecting others and himself.

I do not blame you for emailing them.. I would hate to think that something like that were to be true.. if it in fact it really is & they terminate this driver, not only will the driver have a suit against the attacker, but also against Disney for that fact he was "attacked" and possibly injured on the job...;)

Knowing him, I'm sure he's just fine. I picture him laughing at all the media attention.

Except for the physical contact, drivers that work during park closings, deal with similar situations on regular basis. So no biggie.

It's hard to tell from the video, but that driver is an impossing figure. I don't think I would have given him a hard time. I thought he restrained himself quite well, but I wouldn't expect any less of him.

I hope it is OK to post this here but I fiqured since everyone would want to know what happened to the poor bus driver9 inknow I was curious to know) I would go ahead and post this it was taken from another Diseny forum!

I am not too sure how accurate this is... all of the local news for Orlando is stating that outside law enforcement were never called.. also what I don't understand is why this bus was in the charter bus zone when it is a Disney bus & CM driver.. also if there were truly a plain clothes security officer on that bus, why did he not stop it.. again, I see too many things that do not add up for this to be an accurate description of what came of this attack. I know you did not state it, but who ever posted this on the other forum seems to not have the story correct..

I didn't read the whole thread, but I gotta say with all honesty that this is the most disgusting behavior of a "human" I have ever heard or read about. I'm shuddering...I should probably go back and read a little more so forgive the question, but was the child removed from that "family"? If not, sooner or later that kid's toast.

no..the baby was not taken away from them....

thanks i cant belive the driver dosn't want to press charges unless he affraid that disney will fire him for that. I wish someone their would of called 911 then they would have no choice but to arrest the man and the wife and take the kids. But since they was never called they can hide and have no risk getting in trouble for doing nothing. I sure the fed going to get involed in why osco wasnt called and why they did nothing i hope the driver files a compliant with the justice department they should of been called so they can atlest get everyone side. Now it playing out in the media and the driver going to get the short end of the stick. If the police was called and he got arrested the driver could use it in defending him self so he can keep his job. Give in a couple more day i bet they will get involved and do something it making them and disney look bad.

Am I the only one kinda surprised, with so many men standing around, no one stepped up and broke them up? :confused3 There's that one man in the white, but I think he's with the strangler.

I just am thinking of my own husband, and 19 y/o. I feel like they would have stepped in. I mean, the guy was being strangled...it wasn't just a shouting match.

That was my FIRST thought! I can't imagine my husband just standing there and doing nothing. Or my dad, or my FIL, or my brothers, or my BILs. I just can't imagine it at all.

also what I don't understand is why this bus was in the charter bus zone when it is a Disney bus & CM driver

The bus from DHS to Epcot loads in the charter lot, because they ran out of load zones in the area where the rest of the buses load.

There is no queue there to organize guests waiting for the Epcot bus; I don't know whether audience control tries to create a line at park closing.

I don't think the driver will get "the short end of the stick" as it were since there were no hostilities on his part. Defense and aggression are two different things. The driver was defending himself against the so-called parent who was definitely the out-of-control aggressor. Disney will not, in my own opinion, end up looking bad in this situation. Unfortunately for us, the patrons of the parks are the ones who's looking and acting worse and worse. I can't believe this whole thing...and the child was sent home with them!!! That, too, blows my doors...

Your right I hope he cames out okay he did nothing wrong. But I think Disney will look bad for how their securty handled it I guess as long as the driver okay and still has a job then he be okay.

I had a run in with a man from a different country in September. We were waiting for the monorail and this family showed up in line about 15 minutes after us.. When the monorail got there, the man proceeded to push his son past everyone in front saying "babies first" . Well, he tried anyway- just put my arms out to the side to block them. He told me " in my country, it's babies first" . I replied, " in this country, it's first come first served". We made room for the kid, but the guy had to stand. The wife apologized for him. Incidentally, they ended up taking a knife away from the guy in the bag check line, so he got even angrier. I think sometimes cultural differences cause problems ..the guy in my scenario was ticked that I was arguing with him- how dare a woman talk back to him.

Frankly I would have said "this isn't YOUR country". Don't people know how to behave anymore? When was civility flushed down the toilet? This bullying BS has got to stop somewhere...and SOON! Scary doings indeed.

Thanks so much for clearing up this horrible, disturbing incident. We live in an age of "entitlement" and rage. How sad for all the other guests on board the bus, especially, the children. It could have been any one of our families on board. Leaving the parks, late at night, waiting for a bus with small children is in itself tiring, too witness that spectacle would have done me in.
I am so happy to know that the bus driver was okay. Thanks again for taking the time to let us know.

Ha! Middle eastern guy on a bus full of our military. That would have ended well for him.

Hahaaa!! That's what I was thinking but did not want to start up more tension in this thread!

Oh yeah...tension, shmension...I too, had the very same thought. And, since we're on the subject...may God forever bless our military!!!
