Busch Gardens Williamsburg: Big Bad Wolf GONE

So going through some pictures a friend sent me from Christmas Town at BGW, he sent me a few of where the Big Bad Wolf Coaster Was. I dont mean where it used to run, and is closed....but the whole thing is gone.

It amazes me that in just a few short months they can rip a coaster completely out and leave very little traces of it.
I mean, at other parks you can see a show building or a ride stick around for years and years...how long have the towers been up for the skyride at MK? But this, it just wows me.

Wow- that was the first roller coaster I ever rode- and I have loved roller coasters since then. It was my sixth grade graduation trip.

Unbelievable how quickly they demolished it. Thanks for posting the pics. We love Busch Garden Williamsburg & will be curious to see if anything replaces it.

Isn't it though? I first rode this thing in April. It was a rough old coaster that was in need of some TLC. The cost to maintain it was told to be around half a mil a year...so I've been told...so to keep it open was a bad idea...but to have something so unique with that first drop, and the village, torn down with nothing in plans to replace it that is as equally unique...well...its rather sad.
How cool would an inverted coaster like Dueling Dragons (with no loops) be down that drop and into the river? Or even better a flying coaster? The problem is though, that they'll probably build a huge new coaster when they really need a family coaster...not enough of those in the world today.

...one of my students had visited Busch Gardens in October and she rode it for the last time, telling us that they were closing it down, but she didn't know that they were removing the whole darned thing! I really loved that ride - especially the part when you went over the water.....
