My understanding is that busses do not go from DTD to the parks. So, if I am at DTD and want to go to the parks what is the best hotel to take a bus to, and then how do I get from the hotel to my chosen park?

I am thinking that if I want to go to MK, I can take the bus to the Contemporary and either walk or take the monorail. But what about the other parks?

TIA

It really doesn't matter. Just take any bus. The reason they stopped running buses to the parks from DTD was to discourage folks from parking for free at DTD and then hopping a bus to MK, MGM, Epcot. Now, it's much harder and time consuming to get to a park from DTD.
So, just pick any bus. I guess if you want to get to MGM, you would be better off on a bus to BW/BC/YC. AK would be best served by a bus to AKL. Epcot would be the same as MGM. But, like I said, it will be time consuming.

Oh, that makes sense about the free parking. I was not thinking about that since we will be on site without a car. I just want to get from dinner at DTD to the evening fireworks shows at MK, MGM or Epcot.

Thanks for your response.

Do whatever makes the most geographical sense. You've already done this with MK, using Contemporary as you bus depot.

With Epcot, I imagine Beach Club or Boardwalk would work best, since that'll put you pretty near the International Gateway and you'll want to be at that side of Epcot for IllumiNations, anyway.

For MGM, you can also walk from the Boardwalk/BC/Swan/Dolphin area. If you don't want the long walk (and if you don't care for the FriendShip boats from that area, for some reason), you can take a bus to Caribbean Beach Resort or Pop Century and then catch an MGM bus from there.

The most important thing is to NOT waste time criss-crossing WDW property on buses. For example, if you want to get from DTD to MGM I would advise AGAINST catching a bus going to Animal Kingdom Lodge or the Magic Kingdom-area resorts, as those would be frightfully out of the way.
