I thought I read somewhere that POFQ only has one bus stop and it often shares with POR. Is this true? and which building(s) are closest to bus stop?

Thanks

Yes, POFQ has one bus stop, I'm not sure which building number is the closest though. There are something like 4 or 5 for POR though and the bus is shared with POFQ, stopping at FQ first, then going on to ALL the POR stops. It really seems to add a lot of time to your trip IMO.

Building 4 is closest to the bus stop. When we left for a park in the morning (8:30 or so for regular opening) we didn't always stop at the POR stops. Sometimes we would stop at all of them sometimes we would stop at a few. At park closing there were usually separate buses for POFQ and POR. POFQ was always first picked up and first dropped off. We were pretty happy with the bus service. Enjoy your trip!

POFQ has one bus stop, it is right outside the main enterance to the right.

Because POFQ is a smaller resort, none of the buildings are all that far from the bus stop. It is a one to maybe five minute walk from any of the buildings.

When were there, POFQ was always the first pick up and all but one time the first to be dropped off. Sometimes for pick up we stopped at POR, sometimes we didn't.

-- Also don't forget the boat to DTD at POFQ! We loved that boat!
It is in the back, straight beyond the pool.

I have been reading how sometimes the POFQ doesn't also pick up passengers at the POR. Does that depend on how busy it is? Does Disney pull out more buses like they do for rides when it gets real busy??? I was wondering about the holiday season. We will be there from Dec 20-25. I had also read a horror story about a 3 hour wait from Epcot. (I don't remember where that bus was going to.) Is that normal and basically true? I'm a little concerned!! :rolleyes1

Coming from MK back to the resorts, after 3pm, they do not share the bus. Sometimes going to the parks, we only stop at the South Depot and on to the park. I thought the transportation was fine. There were a few times when we had to stop at all the Depot.

So it just depends on the time and day it sounds like. By the way all of this stuff is brand new to me. I have never corresponded to anybody like this. What a WDW world of information. Fantasia you are like the queen (or princess princess: )of the POFQ. I have learned so much about this resort from you. Your pictures of you and your family are beautiful and I enjoy so much looking at them. What kind of camera do you have? I can't wait to get there and see for myself! Do you live close to WDW or something? I live in Central California, so DL has been our stomping grounds. Finally talked my husband into taking our whole family to WDW for Christmas. 3 grown children plus spouses, my 12 year DD and 22 month old grandson. 10 of us!!!!! My daughter-in-law is also expecting another baby. She will be 7 months along. What building do you think would be good?? I'm thinking # 4 or 5. But then I hear # 4 is smoking. Do you know??? Once again thanks for all of the info!!! :Pinkbounc
PS Maybe I should have posted this on another thread. Is it OK to ask non related questions??? Sorry!

You are so welcome and I'm glad you enjoy viewing my pictures! I use Olympus.. I think 3.1 or 3.5 mega pixel.

As far as bldg #4. I know that there are some rooms that are non-smoking, I know cause I walked around the 2nd or the 3rd floor of that bldg and I was looking at the doors as I pass by and they have the non-smoking signs on the door (or was it side wall). I must say bldg #4 is the most closest to the bus stop and the food court and a very short walk to the pool. If you are thinking of bldg #4, ask for the room that is facing the courtyard, this is facing the parking lot...HOWEVER... with so much plants and beautiful garden, you really can't see the parking lot and if you do.. believe me the beauty of the courtyard will distruct you from looking at the parking lot. Or you can have the other view of another courtyard facing bldg #7, but the walk will be a little bit (tinsy winsy) longer to get to the food court..

Bldg #5 is good too, but ask for the room closest to the stairway near the street.. I forgot what that street is called. The street name is on one of the pictures. If you get a room that is closest to the river, then yes... you will walk a little bit longer to get to the food court and the bus stop.

Now depending on what season you're going. If you're going during slow season, they may not have the "after 3pm" bus for each resort. We went during first week of August and mid July.

I think you will enjoy your stay at POFQ! Have a super duper time!

We came back from POFQ two weeks ago. The hotel is beautiful. We had a non-smoking room in Building 4, like Fantasia have stated it is the closest to the food court and buses. The pool is mainly right downstairs as well. We had a room on the 3rd floor facing the parking lot but you don't see the parking lot at all....its all trees and flowers. We will definitely be staying there again in the future.

The nice thing about POFQ is that it's so small that even the furthest building is only a 5 minute walk to the main lobby (bus stop is right in front). On our recent stay in April, POFQ was full but we still found it very quiet. As others have mentioned, sometimes the POFQ stopped at POR and sometimes it did not -- maybe 50/50 on our trip.

I'll be calling my AAA agent to request building #4 facing the courtyard. I wish I could call myself, but I'm pretty sure she has to do it, since I booked through AAA. Hope we get it, but like everybody says, I guess any room sounds good. Thanks again!!! :cheer2:

How do you know where the buses are going? Do they say MK or Epcot on them?

Also, how often does a MK bus come? How long will it take me to get to POFQ to CR for Chef Mickey's?

I love having an "insider" to get info from. You guys are the best! :)
I called and added another day to my ressie and requestd building #4, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get it.

For those who have gone during value season (we are going in January), how long do you have to wait for a bus when leaving a park?

Is Bonfamille's Cafe still there at POFQ? I believe that it was closed a few years ago when they renamed Dixie Landings POR. We did not see it when we were at POFQ last week. The map posted must be a few years' old.
