Bus Service to MK Solution?

I've read several posts regarding the bus service to MK. It seems many people have found the service to be less than what they hoped for. Others have noted that they still take the bus even if they do have a rental car because a drive to MK still requires a tram ride and a monorail trip to the TTC and finally to the park. How about driving your car to a hotel along the monorail (such as the Grand Floridian), park there and take the monorail directly to the park? Is this possible and would it save any time (assuming the bus ride is unnecessarily long)?

The resort security tends to keep peple out who don't have PS or reservations.

I think that would be slower than the bus. Get in car drive, park, walk to monorail, ride to mk.

MK is about the only place I do take the Disney bus.

You could be right about the time it might take. On the other hand, we have stayed on Disney property four times and never had a problem driving to any resort and parking without PS. All I have said is that we want to look around, shop and have a snack because we may want to stay there next time (all true). They never turn you down if you are going to spend money!

I doubt you'll actually save much if any time. It's just that you feel like you are actually doing something besides just waiting. I hear the Contemporary has started to crack down (especially at busy times) with folks parking for the day. This is the only resort that might save you some time by walking into the MK. Coming back to the GF you have to do the full monorail circle and risk running into traffic problems on the line that can cause delays of 10 minutes or much, much more. (I guess you could take the boat, but then you have to walk through the GF grounds and back out to your car.)

I still think being dropped at the entrance by the bus will beat almost any other way of getting to the MK.

I parked at the Poly about 10 days ago and they gave us a 3 hour pass even though the lot was mostly empty. I guess this is the standard procedure now at the MK resorts. The pass had an expiration time written on it and a note underneath that parking is not available there for the theme parks. I don't know what happens if you go over the time, we left before the 3 hours were up.

Thanks for your response! I think we will be taking the bus from BWV, but will still visit other resorts as 3 hours would be more than enough time to look around, etc.

:p
