DH and I here since Sat.....at SSR (Grandstand not our choice or request)...bus stop not far but honestly this is our 3rd trip in a year....
Two MK and AK buses come before an Epcot..
.
Dinner at Kozzunia's we decide we will take a bus to Epcot front of park and then hop on bus to SSR...yes i know we could go to TTC....
Again 2 buses to DTD come by bus stop BWV then 2 buses come by for AK...after 45min we walk over and get a cab.to SSR.....cold and tired..we have never taken a cab..
Bus service sucks....maybe then can get a magic band for that!!!

Good news MB's have worked fine just find getting in the hotel room door a bit awkward...

Sorry for the experience you're having with bus service. My husband insists on getting a rental car and I've been telling him that we could save money by not getting one. After reading this, I think we'll be getting a rental car.

One problem with the second part would have been that there is no bus from BW to the front of Epcot. The only direct access to Epcot from there (and YC/BC and S/D) is through the IG; which of course would mean walking to the front of the park. Best bet may have been to walk or boat to DHS (assuming it was still open) and then take the bus to SSR from there.

Actually, you could not have taken Disney Transportation from Disney's BoardWalk directly to TTC. Nor could you have caught an SSR bus at TTC.

A sign at the BoardWalk bus stop tells guests that it is served by three buses:

• Magic Kingdom
• Downtown Disney / Typhoon Lagoon
• Animal Kingdom / Blizzard Beach

There is no bus service from BoardWalk to Epcot or Hollywood Studios. You could have waited for days without ever getting a bus to Epcot.

It was not necessary to take a cab.

You could have taken whatever bus came first and then transferred to an SSR bus at Magic Kingdom, Downtown Disney, or Animal Kingdom.

You could have walked or taken a boat to Hollywood Studios and caught an SSR bus there.

You could have walked or taken a boat to Epcot's International Gateway, exited at the front of Epcot (this only works if you have a Park Hopper or you were visiting Epcot that day), and caught a bus to SSR.

A cab is the fastest -- but not if you first wait 45 minutes for a bus that does not exist.

The buses are suppose to run every 20 minutes, sometimes other factors cause another hub to send more buses, but still the wait time is the target of 20 minutes. Sometimes at MK we have various reasons for sending more buses, might have had too many wheelchairs for one bus, and such.

And yes there are no buses from BW to Epcot unless the boats are down due to weather. There are signs in the load zones mention this. I run into this every week, especially at Swan and Dolphin.

Doing a little research on bus service or asking a CM to assist you with questions would have gone a long way in alleviating your stress.

There is no bus transportation from the BW to DHS or to the front of Epcot. You could have taken any of those buses and then transferred to a SSR bus to get back to the resort.

You could have taken the boat to DHS (by far the fastest and easiest) and transferred to a SSR bus there.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. My home resort is BWV...love it there, and I stay at SSR on occasion. I actually request the Grandstand section because it is close to the main areas, and it's the first stop for the buses to the parks! Of course, that does add time to your overall ride since you have to go all through SSR before leaving for the parks.

As you already know, there is no bus to Epcot from BW. You could have walked to DHS (or taken the boat) and then taken the bus to SSR. Or, you could have gone to DTD and then boated, or bused, to SSR from there.

Funny....I also think it's a bit awkward using MBs to get into my room!

My husband insisted on a rental car last trip. I was hesitant to spend the money but it turned out great. We came and went without worrying about when the buses would arrive. The only time we took a bus all week was to DTD so we would not have to deal with parking. I am thinking after reading similiar posts as OPs, we will make the rental car part of the vacation from now on.

I just returned from a stay at SSR Wednesday and did not have any bus problems as described. Although one time at Epcot I had waited 15 minutes (I tend to look at my watch when I get to a stop) for the bus and the guy behind me in line complained to the driver that he had waited over half an hour for the bus. I told the driver I had been at the stop before the complainer and had only waited 15 mins.

Disney transportation is huge and very complex as there could be 3-4 options to go from place to place.I agree that you should have asked if not sure.The only times you'll see a bus to Epcot or DHS from the Boardwalk is when the boats shut down due to weather.From Kouzzina to SSR the best option would have been to take the boat to DHS and then a bus to SSR.Option two would have been bus from Boardwalk to DTD where you have three options to SSR depending on where your room is at,you could bus over,boat over or walk over if your room is close enough.
