Bus service and SOG?

IF Shades of Green is open by next May we have tentative plans to bring at least 3 of the grands (our Isabella and two of her cousins plus perhaps her older half-sister) for a 13 day stay. Gary can't be out in the parks much as he requires a lot of rest and quiet ( quiet? with 3 or 4 kids ages 5 -9! ) so I'll be managing them by myself most of the time.

So here's my question and the reason this is posted on the Transportation Board:

What has the bus transportation historically been from SOG to the parks and back? I've never seen a SOG bus stop. How have I missed it? Is it Disney transportation or some other kind of bus?

It has been awhile since we stayed at SOG, back in November 1999 actually. But, I'll tell you what I do remember of their bus service at that time.

I believe at the time they had bus service to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and Disney/MGM Studios. I don't recall if they had bus service directly to EPCOT since we took the monorail from TTC at that time. Service was fine except for once when one of the busses broke down and lots of us were left waiting at the Studios after closing. That was a small bump in the road.

Many times we walked over to the Poly and took the monorail from there to the MK or TTC then to EPCOT. It was a short 10 minute walk or so from SOG to the Poly Just needed to be careful crossing the small street there.

Whatever you do with SOG make sure you get it in writing. Had quite an experience with their management. Hope it improves when they re-open.

Shades of Green runs thier own transportation. Not quite sure what will change when they re-open, as I know they sold off thier older buses. I have a feeling they will be purchasing some new ones soon, and have a much better fleet than in the past.

My *GUESS* is that they will have a bus to the TTC for the MK and Epcot. How the routes will be for the other parks, I don't know. But I'm sure they will have direct buses to Studios, AK, DTD, and the water parks. (Some routes might be combined)

Oh yeah! hehe .... I failed to make note that the busses SOG was running back in 1999 were their own busses, not WDW transportation.

All in all the transportation was decent - back in 1999 that is.

Hope its on to bigger and better things after their renovation!
