Hey folks,

This is our first time staying at the ASM. Can you all give me a rough estimate for the time it takes to ride the bus to the TTC?

Thanks,

There is no direct bus from ASM to the TTC. If you need to get there you can take a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then get to the TTC by Monorail.

We have something in common (See my my signature).

As for your reply, "What!!!!!???"
That is so odd. So when travelling to Monorail resort hotels, we must go to the MK each time?

When you travel to a Monorail Resort by car you don't need to drive to the TTC, you can drive to the Resort directly itself. Then if you want to ride the Monorail you can get on from where ever it departs from.

If you want to visit the Contemporary, Polynesian or Grand Floridian after leaving the Magic Kingdom all you do is go where the sign says Resort Monorail.

Not sure if you know this but if you stay at the All Star Resorts you take a bus that goes right to the Magic Kingdom bus station, so you don't need to go to the TTC at all.

Hey CR,

Thanks. I am familiar with the buses and the monorail system (I'm a WDW veteran for over 25 years) buttttttttttt, I have only stayed off the monorail once before in the early 90's. I guess I am just amazed there is no bus to the TTC. I am meeting my parents at 1900 park fare for breakfast, and guess we will have to ride from the MK instead of from the TTC. That'll be 4 stops instead of 2!

All you need to do, is take the bus to the MK and then the ferry to the GF that would be faster than taking the monorail all around the loop.

Thank you helenk and CR for your advice and information. It is much appreciated.

You can also take the small boat to the GF from MK. It leaves MK, then heads to GF and then to the Polynesian and back to MK. It's usually faster than the monorail, and very pleasant.

The MK monorail resorts are also serviced by bus from AK, MGM and DTD.

There is normally no need for a guest to go to the TTC to get to a park from their resort. There is a very limited demand for this so they don't do it.

That's why the resort buses don't go to the TTC. Disney has 5 hubs from which a guest can transfer to another location on property. So from any theme park a guest can eventually get anywhere on property. It may not be the most convenient way, but you will eventually get there.

Another thing is the logistics. If you had resort to resort bus service, the fleet needs to be larger, the load zones will be more congested and the cost associated with your Disney stay will go up. Like a city bus service, sometimes one needs to transfer to get to their destination and sometimes it's from bus to rapid transit and so forth. Disney is no different.

So are the 5 hubs the four theme parks and Downtown Disney??? And am I correct in assuming that only Downtown Disney, AK and the Studios have bus service to TTC?

There is no bus from DTD to the TTC, but you can take a bus from the AK or MGM to the TTC.
