Bus Problems at Boardwalk

Just wondering if anyone else here has had the occasion of trying to get a bus from Boardwalk to Downtown Disney and had long wait times. (45 minutes) I've had that happen twice in the past couple of weeks. There would be 3 buses for Magic KIngdom and 3 for Animal Kingdom before finally getting the DTD bus. The second time it happened the bus arrived and was already filled to capacity. I guess it had stopped at Beach Club before Boardwalk and had filled up there.

Just wondering what in the world is happening with the DTD bus. Both times this happened was early evening.

The problems with the Downtown Disney Bus routes as well as some of the other park routes will likely continue for the next couple of months. Disney has decided to cut the amount of Bus Cast Members working in the afternoons and the early evenings, which is during the dinner time hour. Disney also has been losing many veteran Bus cast members during the past couple of months due to poor scheduling and many have quit their jobs at Disney and have gone elsewhere to work. :confused3

I have always found that traveling to and from DTD from any resort to be the most time consuming and frustrating of all the routes. For some reason, it doesn't seem to matter where you are, but the bus going to DTD comes the least number of times. But, it isn't only at BW...I've had it happen at POR, at POP, at ASMusic, CR, Polynesian....all of them. And getting back again is a nighmare. We don't go to DTD as much as we used to because of it.

What kinds of complaints have been made and how has Disney responded?

I would consider waiting 45 minutes (a missed trip in between?) at Typhoon Lagoon or wherever and the bus that finally comes is packed full and no less than 20 minutes for yet another bus to be worthy of some extra pixie dust later in my vacation.

We waited for nearly an hour for a bus to DD from the PR. We finally decided to take a cab. As we drove away, the DD bus pulled up!
