Bus Line ............

I don't get too agitated about the bus lines. I figure that I am on vacation to relax and not get all stressed.

Generally I might say "Look honey, that person is so much more important than us that they feel justified in cutting line" with a sort of sarcastic twinkle in my voice. The offender gets the message, even if they choose to ignore the message!

Haven't stayed at a Value, but have stayed at mods and deluxes and DVCs. There are idiots everywhere.

seashoreCM, I did not go to the front of the line with my dh. I was explaining to him that he needed to get back in line with me when the other folks insisted that I go up front with him and get on the bus. They were trying to be nice but it would have been more helpful if they had sided with ME so he might have seen the error of his ways. I could not let him go on without me as he truly would have been lost. He cannot do anything with me. Sort of my like my 'other' child. When I think back I should have handled it differently but I was so embarrassed. :confused3

With a clock we would know whether to sit on a bench and wait or get in line. If I see the line is long and our chances of getting a seat on a bus is slim I sit and wait for the next bus. I cannot stand long. I get shorter and shorter as my lungs collapse. Old age is not fun!! :rotfl2:

What a help a clock would be at those boards in the parks as you could see whether to hurry to linger.

The only time we've ever had long bus waits was at Pop. We've stayed there twice...once during Nov and you couldn't ask for a more perfect stay, once in May and it was horrible...the main kicker was the Loooooong bus waits, in particular a 45 min wait at MK and 1 1/2 hours (honest) at Epcot where there were litterally people fighting when it was all said and done.
I swore I would never stay there again because of the bus problem, but I now find myself planning a trip there for the end of the month.  Hopefully we jut hit it at a bad time.:confused3

But yes, we have had problems with people cutting in line at the bus stops....ducking under chains and cuttingi in front of you and even just walking up to the front of the line and hopping on. But hey, it beats being at home.:rolleyes1

Yup! DF will NEVER EVER stay there (Pop) again. He was scarred for life.

I meant he cannot do anything WITHOUT me. I think he could, he just chooses not too. :confused3

I'm glad to hear it! My biggest complaint with the bus stops at the Value resorts is that they were not covered - that sun can get intense!

Oh my God!!! I thought I was being burned alive waiting for the bus at the POP!!! I think Disney can spare a few bucks for some kind of covering. I was so hot I wanted to cry. Seriously.

I've only stayed at Pop (three times) and never had a problem with people cutting because of the chained queues. I'm kind of scared of POFQ (trying it in October) because they don't have queues.

I thought the Pop bus service was fantastic. The usual wait was 5 minutes.

I do have to admit, I got a little aggravated with the people in ECV's who bring a posse of 12 people with them to cut the line. I think it's totally fine for someone in a wheelchair to cut the line, that's fine. And if they have 2 or 3 with them, fine. But if there's a huge party of 12+, they shouldn't have the right to cut the 30 people who've been waiting in line. What can you do, though.

Just a thought here but I often wonder that if rude folks were confronted more they might not be as rude. I know my dh thinks that it is just I who think some of his 'endearing' habits are not endearing at all.

Just as a kid will do, if someone gets away with something they are apt to do it again, and again.

Just a thought.

Of course my other thought is that some of these folks might be carrying weapons and I might not want to confront them.

I with the person who says they refuse to let a rude person ruin their day. It must be awful to BE the rude person cause you can lie to most everyone except yourself.

Trying hard to be nice and still Slightly Goofy :rotfl2:

We stayed at ASMO this past Dec. and the bus wait was not an issue at all.
Now, if someone did try to cut in front of my family I will not hesitate to say something to them. My DH tells me that I have a strong attitude and a short temper but I see it as this person thinks that they can boss me around and I am not having it:mad: But I am a nice pixie dust spreader at heart.;)
:cheer2:

There is not as many people that ride the bus at POFQ as the Value Resorts. You will enjoy your stay there. One benifit is the bus stops at POFQ first and then over to POR

The bus service to POFQ is much better than the Values Resorts. The line will not be as long and kinda relaxing just haning out under the bus stop. You will not roast in the sun there

I don't think there really is a "solution" for that. When we travel with my grandmother--who requires the use of a wheelchair, sometimes can stand and wait for a bus, sometimes can't--she and one member of our party will wait to the side out of the line, the rest of the party waits in the line. When they've waited in the line and are next to board, she gets up and joins them and boards the bus. That way, although she didn't have to stand or wait in the actual line, we all waited just like everyone else.

I know this doesn't work for everyone, but it does for us so that is how we choose to handle it.:)

A girl after my own heart. I live in NJ, but I do the same thing you do & call that my "New Yorker's Whisper." Gotta let the idiots know we know who they are. Haha! :rotfl2: Yes, they sure are everywhere! I hate when they cut in when you and your family are in the middle of boarding, and your kid turns around expecting to see you and they get dopey idiot stranger face instead. Or when someone cuts your kid off.... grrrr.......pirate:

My plan if someone butts in: Start massaging them.

"oh, in front of me is for massages. If you want to get on the bus, the end of the line is for you." :rolleyes1

(I'm a 6'4" 250lb male - I win most showdowns.)

That's very fair! I wish everyone did it your way. :)

I think it's totally fine for someone in a wheelchair to cut the line, that's fine.

FYI, wheelchairs and ECVs don't cut the line. I have been told many times by the bus drivers to move to the other end of the line so you can be seen by the driver. I don't consider that cutting, just doing what I'm told to do.

If there is a huge line waiting when I arrive, I wait for the next bus. But we try to leave the parks/resort at off times when the buses are practically empty.

Sure, maybe cut's the wrong word to use for ECV users but my point was that I don't mind at all if an ECV user and 2 or 3 people with him/her get to skip the line. They have to board differently, etc. Totally fine! My point was that if they have a large party of 12, they shouldn't all get to skip ahead of the people who have been waiting in the queue.

At Pop they have chained queues and ECV users wait off to the left for boarding. I wish that, if they had a large party, most of the party would wait with everyone else in the queue rather than cutting everyone. We just had a bad experience one time when we were waiting in queue for a bus and a large party with an ECV user filled up a large portion of the bus and we had to wait for the next bus, then another ECV user came with another large party and the same thing happened and we had to wait for the third bus!

Oh I don't blame you there, Kim. It will always just be me and my hubby who board. Often he will stand once on the bus so a seat will be free.

PS - Lindsay, may I join your Josh's Shirt Be Gone Club? That man is HOT. Though, I love Jack as well. I can't believe we have to wait until February. :(
