Bus from Epcot to OKW mid-day.

We just finished our first trip to WDW as DVC owners. Everything was excellent, almost.

Both Bus trips from Epcot to OKW for a mid-day break were horrible (time wise).

Each time we waited 45+ minutes for a bus. The second time this happened, a guy had been waiting there before us, for almost an hour.

MK, AK, and DHS bus service was great. Is this the norm from Epcot to OKW?

That's awful! When we were at OKW a few weeks ago, going to Epcot around noon, we only waited around 10 minutes. The longest I ever waited for a bus there was about 40 minutes, going to DHS. And of course, meantime at least 2 buses to each other park came along.

That's horrible. We were just there for a week in April and we never waited for a bus. Great service.

Buses tend to run during the busy times. If there aren't many waiting at the bus stop, you might be there awhile.

they told me it was a lunch problem - but guess what PO doesn't have this problem - so I just walked over to the PO bus stop took it and still beat the OKW bus back by 30 minutes - that includes walking from PO to OKW.

I wish Disney would put in a walking bridge over the highway to OKW. It’s less than a mile to walk to to Epcot. What’s an extra mile or two when your at Disney?

Another option would be to build a tunnel under the highway.

My previous employer was asked to make sure that there was enough parking spaces available to meet certain demand. The only option beside to relocate was to build a tunnel under the highway. It was costly but worth it.

regards.

We were at OKW the first week of May and had excellent bus service the entire week. All of our waits were under 20 minutes.

Similar issues at AK last month
We were relying on the countdown clocks at the bus stop
When a 5 minute wait turned into a 40 minute wait, we complained and was told the clocks "are only an estimate when the bus will arrive"
With Wi-Fi all over Disney property and GPS technology, there is no excuse for incorrect information

Fortunately this was our only issue and may pass on ME next trip and rent a car to avoid any unnecessary waits

"Estimate"? Five minutes is an estimate of 40 minutes? Good thing the CM that told you that didn't try to teach my students about "estimates". That's exactly why I'm less than thrilled about the possibility of bus wait times showing up on the MDE app.

The Countdown Clocks @ AKV Kidani are next to useless. Every time I waited for a bus there in April whichever one I needed usually just said "Buses run approximately every 20 minutes". If there was an actual time posted it would repeatedly change to a later time the entire time I waited for the bus which never showed up any where near the estimated time. It's been that way every time I've stayed there.

This is what we found at BCV in April as well.

While I certainly agree about the inaccuracy of the wait times posted on the clocks and how annoying it is, this isn’t the fault of the CM at the bus stop nor something they can change. ... like blaming the cashier because the system didn’t ring up the correct sale price.

As aggravating as it is to me as a guest, I can’t imagine what it is like for the poor CM going to work knowing they will be “blamed” for something they have no control over. I’m sure what the CM’s offer as an explanation is what they have been told to say. I feel sorry for them since unless Disney fixes this, they just can’t win.

I’m not sure if anyone, including Disney knows how they run the buses. I think the same person who decides on which DVC resale contracts to ROFR controls the buses too.

We had a similar experience at WL in March. The bus delays were so long that CM's were handing out Fast Passes to guests to appease us all.

Ok I just came back from my own split stay with my wife on Monday and we stayed at OKW and and Boardwalk, and we used the bus system from many of the resorts as well for many Dinning Reservations, shopping events, and what not. Also me and the wife have stayed at every Deluxe except Wilderness and Almost every moderate on site. In saying that both me and my wife feel like OKW is a forgotten Disney resort. The room had some issues, but more importantly the bus schedule was horrible. We had both 40 minute waits at Animal Kingdom, MK and Epcot. I understand that OKW also has a large number of guests who drive cars to disney and dont use the buses as much as other resorts, but in saying that, a 40 minute wait at multiple parks is a bit ridiculous, especially when you notice, multiple buses from resorts close to OKW arrive and depart before your OKW bus shows up.
