They are filling the park with all the discounts. Then cutting back on transportation and staff making everyone short fused... Add a few groups that don't cue well or try to cheat the system and it's a recipe for disaster And it was very evident this trip. We actually had a cast member yelling not requesting that people fill in a the space in line for pirates of the carribean. I mean like not nice yelling. I have never seen that. It Just was not a nice atmosphere

I think that is a perfect time to whip out your camera and hit record. And at some time stop by guest services and ask them if that is how guests should expect to be treated.

There is yelling, and then there is YELLING. If a CM is being rude to guests I have no problem bringing that to someone's attention who can hopefully deal with it. It could be as simple as the CM needs a minute off stage to get themselves back together. But the guests shouldn't have to deal with rudeness in the meantime.

Hm, I do not even understandf all the words you use, I spend too much time in a kitchen, pregnant and ignorant.:rolleyes1

Come on Kelly.. we need to be more like him.. we need to shove those Brazilian teens down and hit them when they line jump in front of our families :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: wonder.. hmmmmm maybe this man on the bus is him j/k

I have seen CM's yelling at the guests to continue moving to the end of the row.. the reason they were yelling was because the guests were not doing as he asked, when he asked in a reasonable tone.. and for that matter, even when he yelled, the guests still did not move down. The other guests had to walk past them in the isle to fill in "all available seating" as they say. So there are times that the CM's do yell and they have every right to be loud, it is obvious that some guests just don't listen.. but as you said.. there is a difference in yelling and being rude. The CM I heard yelling, was not rude.

You should get out more! :rotfl2:

:dancer:

That is pretty funny!!! Some people just have to agree to disagree. While I am fairly passive myself and try to avoid conflict, if someone puts their hands on me, I will defend myself. You can subdue a person coming at you or defend yourself without actually fighting them in the traditional sense...

I'm drafting a letter with a bunch of things I witnessed this trip. It actually really made me question my Dvc membership it was that bad. Have the maps always had a statement about common courtesy or is that new?

I see you're coming around...'bout time. :cool2:

I promise that if we ever happen to be anywhere at the same time - I will NEVER defend you from anything. Honest. :rolleyes1 Not from crazy, throat-choking maniacs or face-slapping crazies. I'll just stand there. :littleangel:

Ok here is my rude guest story with a happy ending. It's a little long but well worth it.

In May at POR we were waiting on a bus in the morning for MK. The line was pretty long and when the bus arrived we were far back enough that it was standing room for DH and I and we shoved DD and DS into the last remaining seat together. The bus did not have enough room for all of the guest waiting and thier quickly was packed to the brim. We finally were ready to take off and this woman shoves her way onto the bus down the aisle of people standing and ends near the back with us. She is holding the hand of a toddler and carrying a baby and had a young child probably around 5 with her. She is loud, rude, and obnoxoius, stepping on people's toes, climbing over strollers, etc fussing that we should get out of her way. Her husband pops his head in the super full buss and calls back at her you need to get off they won't let me on with our stroller. Let me just say their stroller was TRIPLE side by side jogger and it was a monster. She starts SCREAMING back at him that they have to let him on b/c she is on there with her babies and they must let him on and she cannot get off. (She is standing across from me near the rear exit doors BTW) She continues to yell and demand we make room for him and claim that cannot leave her without her stroller. She continues to yell at the bus driver to let her husband on. Everyone on the bus is staring at her and a few people grumble and shuffle on back maknig 6 inches of room and husband squeezes in. He is polite and I can hear him apologize to people around and see his blazing red embarrassed face all the way at the front of the bus.

So we start the trek to MK, as we are pulling into the bus unloading lot she starts to scream "let me off, I have to get off first, let me off". I am thinking ok princess here we go again and since I am directly in front of the back exit doors I think she will get off this bus before me over my dead body. People on the bus are exchanging amused glances and rolling thier eyes. We pull up to the stop and she continues to scream "let me off, I need off first." I'm like whatever. So I exit and a few others around me closer to the door. I walk to the middle of the aisleway and she runs past me. My DH and kids come off the bus dying laughing. As I'm opening our stroller I say to DH what was up with princess over there, can you believe her? He finally starts gasping for air and points over to her about 15 feet ahead and says........look at her. I hear others from the bus snickering as everyone walks past her laughing. We get closer and I see that princess's baby has pooh'ed all over her!!!! She had on red shirt and white shorts and both had baby's big present on it.

If you are into politics the icing on the cake was her park bag was white w/ a large political party symbol on it (in bedazzled sequins) and the baby hit that too. I won't say which one (fill it in w/ your pick) but that just made it funnier.

I think this shows that even God has a sense of humor!!! Karma sux!

LOL, same here, my day at that park would have been over right there and the other guy would have left on a stretcher!! Some people are way to passive...The OP mentioned the foul language in front of her child, when i hear that, i give ONE warning and let them know i dont want my children to hear that ( especially in a Disney Park) and if they persist, its lights out for them. When i am done with them, its a sure bet they will never do that again!!!!

And your children and you will be removed from the park by security. Is it worth it. :confused3

Have you been there recently??? Why do you think threads like this even exist????

You don't meet many that will actually physically attack you.. verbally maybe, but not physically... While it does happen, it doesn't happen often..
there is also another thread about how there are some decent people there too... and there are.. some very nice people.. :goodvibes

I wouldn't go as far as questioning your DVC membership.. there are still many nice resorts to go to.. not just the ones near the parks.
Your comment about the maps and the statement of common courtesy, are you saying that it is written on the maps now  I haven't ever seen that, but then again, I never take a map... so I wouldn't have seen it...

Its amazing to me how many people are happy spending their entire lives being pushed around. How humiliating it must be to be yelled at, or even slapped and just walk away. I have always come to the aid of smaller, weaker people when they are being bullied, perhaps I should not do that anymore, i wouldnt want to offend someone who is being attacked and cowering is their way feeling like they are coming out on top of the situation:confused3. Unfortunately there are a few distant relatives in the fam with this outlook in life......but i promise you that (god forbid) when the day comes in this country when something worse than 9/11 happens and chaos rules, these will be the first people knocking at my door begging for help. My response will be.."just walk up to the bad guys and turn the other cheek" Im sure that will help them out!!!:thumbsup2
