Burger King introduces ghost pepper chicken nuggets

Sorry, but anyone who actually eats ghost peppers or reapers just isn't in his right mind.

I'm still not over the ghost pepper chips vanishing from Trader Joes, it was a touch of heat but flavorful.

Another case of the abuse of spice in our society!

It remains to be seen exactly how they put in. I've had things that were supposedly habanero infused, and there was so little that it was no worse than eating a raw jalapeño.

And of course what goes in must come out. That can get a little bit interesting the next day.

It does give you the opportunity to make sure your system is functioning efficiently.

I would be game to try them, but I don’t have a BK nearby that I know of. I love spicy food and have a bottle of ghost pepper sauce in my fridge right now. I prefer it to Tabasco.

I also love spicy foods, but I've recently discovered that I can't tolerate sriracha. In checking that out, I discovered that it's made from red jalapenos, which would explain it. For some reason jalapenos taste chalky to me and never sit well, but usually I can avoid it by just never eating green hot sauces. So much for that plan, LOL.

I find ghost peppers and scotch bonnets don't bother my stomach nearly the way jalapenos do, go figure. (Scotch bonnets have the best flavor of all the hot peppers, IMO.)

Hey, bcla, do you ever eat anything besides fast food or at Six Flags?

Well if it's like most fast food things advertised as hot, the hot peppers really will be a ghost. There will be so few of them in there, you can hardly taste it. Finding a tidbit of one will be like finding an actual mushroom tidbit in jarred spaghetti sauce.

I actually eat very little of that. But most of what I do eat is kind of boring and not worth talking about here.

Finally got to try it, especially since my 11 year old was bugging me about it.

Frankly it was a letdown. I've had their "spicy" chicken nuggets and it was about the same level of heat, which is barely perceptible. I put on Huy Fong Sriracha and I'm feeling a little pain, but these were mild as heck. The taste was fine, as the ghost peppers give a little bit of a different flavor. I've also bitten into a real ghost pepper, where I was still feeling pain for an hour.
