Bumping at HRH/PB?

Can anyone give me more info on the onsite hotels bumping guests offsite if they are oversold? I read about this on another post and it scared me. I'm booked at the HRH for 2 nights in June. Is there a chance I may be bumped elsewhere? I choose HRH for FOTL access and location. I'd rather go home early than take a chance and get relocated. Please help with any suggestions.

Where did you see the post that said HRH can bump you to an offsite location? We are also booked there and don't want this to happen. I thought if you have a confirmed booking with a credit card it is guaranteed, was I wrong?

Airlines and hotels overbook to compensate for no-shows. Usually the airline (or hotel) will offer enough compensation so that they get enough volunteers. Someone recently posted a problem in which they were bumped (walked) to the Peabody and was not happy.
If you're concerned see if the hotel is fully booked for your trip (call or check on the web). If it's fully booked try to get there early and if they want to move you ask if they can get someone else to volunteer.
When it happens in Disney it's no a problem since Disney can give you similar (or upgraded) accomodations.

Since we won't be arriving until real late I called the hotel and told them, especially since it is a holiday weekend. I'll probably check and confirm again prior to leaving. Is there anything else I can do to make sure we have a room when we get there? We don't want to stay off property.

Let me tell you guys I was bumped, I was there early had already paid in advanced, had confirmed that I had a room and when I got there I was bumped as were a list of other people, there was a letter prepared for me when I got to the front desk of the PBH and they were relocating me to offsite. If there is a convention there when you are there and they want extra rooms or do not have a no show rate of which the hotel forcasted and you have a 1 or 2 night stay GOODLUCK and I will tell you it hurts and it leaves a SCAR are you reading this PBH staff. Enjoy the HRH the workers there were 1st class and they were very nice but the PBH workers I am not going into it again. GOOD luck and enjoy the parks(seaworld is a must for all)

That can really get a vacation off to the wrong start. Was sorry to hear what happened. We had that experience once at an Orlando Hotel when we arrived late and I made such a fuss that they refunded our money booked us into the Peabody and paid for all our food for the entire stay. Our room was also guaranteed on a credit card and when we arrived at 11:30PM with two exhausted and sleepy kids we found out they had bumped us. If it's guaranteed and you call to confirm you will be late they have NO REASON to give up your prepaid room. Anyways, we have now decided to leave alittle earlier so hopefully we won't have a problem at HRH. I'm trying to think positive.

SGF--When you get there early you can try to tell them to give you the room and overcompensate someone else but if you're a late arrival and there are no rooms left there isn't a lot you can do.
I'd call (or fax) the hotel directly (maybe even the day you leave) to tell them your approximate arrival time. You don't want them to assume you're going to be a no show. That should reduce the chances of being walked.

Lewisc:

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to give them a call just before leaving that day as you suggested. We plan on being there around 8PM (earlier than originally) so hopefully things will go smoothly. Would love to arrive in the afternoon but that won't be possible.
