Building Castles in the Sky - an Oct 2012 PTR *Update 9/20- Day 3 Plans!*

If you had to choose between the 2, at which park would you spend the day: DHS or AK?

  • Disney's Hollywood Studios

  • Animal Kingdom

Since you will probably only want one meal at Epcot since you will be sampling food around the world I would probably go with Chefs de France. If it is the soup from Le Cellier you are interested in past years it has been available as a sample at the F&W booth!

I've never tried Boma but LOVE Raglan Road!

Cape May Clam Bake is a good bang for your bunk restaurant and you could probably go there on your DHS day!

For Breakfast I've heard awesome things about Kona!!

Yes, I am definitely interested in the soup at Le Cellier... but also the whole experience. It's one place we've never been, so I think we'll try for the ADR. If we can't get it Les Chefs is next on our list!

My BFF has been to Raglan Road and she absolutely loved it. I'm really hoping Shane and I can manage dinner there during our trip.

I think we're going to try for Cape May for the day we go to DHS. It should be easy to get to from the park... and easy to get back to DHS if we feel like it. Plus, I think Shane is looking forward to trying it. :thumbsup2

But… back to my breakfast quandary. IF we decide to go this route, where should we have breakfast? Again, it would have to be at a resort since we won't be able to use a park ticket that day. The only breakfasts we've done is at Crystal Palace, and I've had breakfast at Boma (which was good, but if we're going to go to Boma I would rather it be for dinner). Any suggestions for breakfast? We're not opposed to buffets, but the only ones I know of are character meals ('Ohana, 1900 PF, Cape May) and not sure how Shane feels about dining with characters when it'll be just the two of us, LOL!

Where do you like to have breakfast at WDW?

We happen to love the breakfast at 'Ohana, and we've also enjoyed Chef Mickeys! When my DH and I went for our anniversary trip --just the two of us--we had a character breakfast at CP, so I think it's fine to do without kids! :thumbsup2 We're kids at heart! ;)

I've heard good things about California Grill. I may have to add that one to the list of potentials.

Have you done breakfast at Kona before? That may be an option for the dilemma I just posted above...

It's been four years, but I would swear that Cali Grill is the best meal I've ever had at Disney!

We have actually eaten breakfast at Kona, and it is delicious! Tonga toast --but be warned that it's HUGE! Better be hungry! I've also heard a lot of people around here say they love the macadamia nut pancakes. Sounds good to me!

We usually go to Cape May before we go to DHS...this May, we're doing it a little different and going to Cape May before Epcot, but usually, I like to do Cape May before a night at DHS, it always seems to work out pretty well! :thumbsup2

Definitely go to Le Cellier for lunch! :cool1:

I like Kona for breakfast, and I've heard good things about the Grand Floridian Cafe!

I'm thinking dinner at Cape May on our DHS day is a sure thing. I know we'd both enjoy the food, and I think it would be easy to get to the resort from the park. As well as back to the park, if we feel like doing so after dinner.

I'm really hoping for Le Cellier! Fingers crossed we can get that ADR!

YAY! I can tell a difference from your before/after pics! Keep up the hard work! :)

I can totally relate to your story and can't wait to hear more! My hubby and I are also attempting to lose weight, but you've got me intrigued now with the program you guys are on. You look great and I'm sure you'll get to your goal in no time! I'll have to look into the program. :surfweb:

We have kids similar in ages, DD is 11 and DS is almost 9. We've been to WDW twice (also in 2007 & 2010) and are planning another trip for next year! We plan on staying at POR again, its where we stayed in 2010. I have a ton of pics, but most are of the Aligator Bayou rooms as that's where we stayed if you ever want to see some. :yay: Its a great resort, you'll love it. As someone already posted; its a beautiful resort, the food court is wonderful, the boat to DTD is a wonderful change of pace fromt he buses and it is close to EPCOT (my fav park)!

I must tell you, I'm already thinking about trying to talk my DH into an anniversary trip for our 15. It won't be for a couple more years, so I think I might have a chance! :thumbsup2 My DH likes WDW in all, but he doesn't "drink the Disney water" like I do!!

Can't wait to hear more!popcorn::

Wow you both look amazing - great work! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Tanz! :lovestruc

:welcome:, Along4theRide!

How funny we've been at WDW the same times (with kids the same ages)... and I hope to have another family trip next year, too! I'd really like to stay at a Deluxe next year... not sure yet which one, though. Although once we see POR, we might just fall so in love with it that we'd want to stay there next year, too!

What is it with DHs not being Disney obsessed like their wives? ;)

You both look great Shannon! I gave up Diet soda sometime before Christmas and I was surprised at how little I miss it. Do you still crave soda?

Thanks, Alicia! :goodvibes

No, I don't crave it at all... and that's the weirdest thing! I thought I would, for sure. I used to drink 3 (sometimes 4!) Cokes a day. And I'd try to cut back to maybe 1 or 2, but inevitably cave in. So quitting Cokes cold turkey? I thought, "No way, I can't do that!" I'm quite surprised that I have.

I actually have a Coke in the fridge, with a note on it that says "to be opened 4/8" (this 12 week program officially ends on the 7th) I'm curious to see how I'll find the taste after not having one for 3 months!

Jumping in. We'll be there the same time as you, although I'll be surrounded by kidlets! Jealous of your adults only trip!

Good job on the weight loss! I keep thinking I'd like to lose a little weight before our trip but I'm not motivated enough to start (blush)

:welcome:, Chelley! Glad to have you!

It's definitely a different experience, being at WDW without the kids. Hopefully one day you'll get to go on an "adults only" trip! :thumbsup2

And thanks! It's really hard for me to find the motivation some days, too. Hopefully I've learned better eating habits and can keep it up!
